Want an eval? I've played through your mod, not bad. She cute and has a great personality. But why is she there? You have to understand most guys don't want to roll around with some girl for no reason while she calls my character a dork all the time. Nor do i need to be reminded that my poor character who just lost his family and killed his granddad son that he's in the friend zone. Thats why female characters need an affinity system. There's plenty of characters that say random crap and shoot people all day. There's no place for the poor girl. Maybe add girl friend or boyfriend for her to react to? maybe we can become closer friends with benefits? Maybe she vows to be my platonic bodyguard? At this point shes just bait for super mutants. Just saying, for future creation. Dork.
Just came here to say pretty much the exact opposite as this dude. This girl is BY FAR my favorite companion mod I have found for Fallout 4. The character has an existence and personality that extends beyond the main character's story arc thus not only making her more believable but also adding some much needed believability to the setting itself. What's what? There are stories and things that happen without the protagonist being involved?? Heaven forbid! I also love the dork thing. It's freaking adorable and a clever way around the issue of character name that does not rely on predictable fallout tropes like vault dweller. Finally there's affect. Voice actors either have affect or they don't. This one does. I was previously using Heather as my go to companion mod, but the affect was not there in the voice and so immersion goes right out the window. This mod's also better in that it, again, does not make the npc orbit the main character like a satellite. She's her own person. That's what makes it good. I could take or leave the romance option. I trust the mod author's creative vision in this regard.
People with cold personalities can also become friends with others, she went through some things with the player and their relationship became intimate, doesn't mean she will lose her personality or she turned to be a barbie doll.
Only interested in Barbie Dolls though.... came here to check her out, but if she just some rando, I can never forge any meaningful connection with, has no grand cause she wants me to help with in exchange for her helping me, or some interesting deep meaningful backstory that is unique enough to warrant my actually remembering her and wanting to know more... then she had better at least look pretty and put out.
Before you sling the 'have you never talked to an asexual tomboy' at me.. my woman was an asexual tomboy... still a tomboy at almost 50, less asexual (trauma is a bastard, but if you work with it, through it, fun things happen, so what).....
...however, people have expectations for things. Companion mods, are determined by companions in game, to some degree. No one would want some meat, and romance, on mod companions, if vanilla companions did not have them... but they do... so the very best mod companions include those things.
Attacking someone's 'game' as a man, with women, because your companion mod has some shortcomings to them, which they felt they should share... and sorry, but critique is as valid a use of this part of the listing as questions, or praise..... is just really salty.
Running at someone suggesting some additions to your mod to make it more appealing to wider base of of players, attacking them, because you seem to he hurt by valid critique, is not going to do your mod too much good.
I was almost willing to give her try, despite the OP's comment, until I read these replies. Now, I sense some serious hubris on the authors behalf, and would be concerned about raising any problems, or giving you any feedback whatsoever.
The idea of a companion who does not want companionship, is novel, but lackluster, that is what the Robot Workbench is for, simple as that.
She does have a backstory and she doesn't put out, maybe judge the mod by playing it and not some gooner whining about my writing in the comments. I aint reading the rest of this yap fest tho.
Hey Pig great mod man, had her on my list for awhile (building up a new mod list again). I like the fact she isn't interested in the Player romantically in all honestly it adds realism.
So far... we're 2 for 2 when it comes to some really cool fun from your mods.
While I didn't have many glitches other than my own brain saying, "hey, she's in the Parkview Apartments"... when I couldn't clearly read "Parkview Lounge"... this mod is short and sweet. Literally and figuratively... as Molly is shorter than my other NPCs and her quest was pretty sweet.
My only issue... too short. Molly seemed to be a fun enough young lady where delayed quests (think Companion Ivy)... would definitely catapult her to new heights. I seen here that most would have loved to have a romance option, I think that's due to a character's character. Hell.. .there's companions on this site that are nearly instantly romantic and it doesn't take much to max their affinity. Similar to Far Harbor Story - Ug Qualtoth Keeps His Promise, that mod.. even when you're done with the primary storyline... throws up random quests for treasure... perhaps Molly can do that as well?
Molly's affinity... hell, she fits right in with Revy or Skarlett. Bad ass fighters that have a serious attitude, humor that kills and a level of her own charisma that makes you want to have her around more than just for her own little quest. Possible future for her? Hope so... her quest ended with an affinity of just a mere 148... lots of room for her to blossom into a partner in crime. There's no need for every character to fall in love with the Lone Survivor. Maybe those wanting her to be romantic are those that think the harder it is to win someone over, the more worthy the chase.
While Molly is quite different than the likes of Ivy, Heather or even The Source (if you know that mod, you know what I mean)... she's worthy of keeping her in the load order and having some fun around the Commonwealth.
I have just come back to FO4 after a couple of years off.... and got excited to see a new custom voiced companion, as something of a custom companion tragic..... but someone said she is protected, not essential?
Ughhh.
I want to try her, but if I like her, and she dies, it ruins the game. She seems to have limited depth and scope, and less dialogue and interactions than someone like Heather Casdin, so I would not roll with her alone.... but even if *I* go out of my way not to kill her, having other companions around, can get her killed anyway, since they push each other across my sight lines all the time, especially in alleys or narrow halls.
Can we have an essential version? I mod by manager.... I do not know what xEdit even is, but I would love have her as a secondary.... prop.... background character along with me, for comic relief if nothing else. But unless she gets deep immersive dialogue trees, and multiple stage personal quests.. plural... and long, multi phase, romance arc... like the best female custom companions, I could not abandon my other companions for her, to make sure I do not kill her. An essential version would be awesome, and allow me to take her for whirl.
If you have Robco Patcher, here's a simple one-line patch that will set her to Essential: filterByNpcs=CSEPCompanion.esp|173B:setProtected=false:setEssential=true I don't know if the setProtected bit is necessary, but better safe than sorry. Your other option is to copy her NPC record to a new patch using xEdit and making the switch there.
Not sure why the author seems to imply not using AI is something to brag about, but there it is. That said, the voice acting is good for amateur voice actors (and better than some professionals). Small in scope compared to the bigger companion mods (e.g., Heather, Darlene, Ivy at LL and The Machine and Her), but that's much better than the author biting off more than they can chew (which we've all seen).
And all that said, endorsed because it's well put together and pretty much bug-free.
Not sure why the author seems to imply not using AI is something to brag about
Because it is. Using AI to generate a script or using generative AI for the voice takes work away from actual human beings and a substantial number of VA's, both professional and amateur, have complained about having their voices scraped for AI stuff. I can't wait for Nexus to take a harder stance outright ban generative AI stuff, assuming the AI industry doesn't die before that happens.
Getting upset about AI is kind of like people in 1920 getting upset about automatic elevators. AI voicing allows games like Skyrim and Fallout to have voicing mimicking the original VA. Without AI we'd have one of four choices: 1) no voicing; 2) another VA voicing just the the new lines; 3) another VA re-voicing all the lines; or 4) the original VA voicing the new lines. AI adds a fifth option. Not to mention that AI voicing gives us stuff like Dragonborn Voice Over.
I'm obviously not going to change anyone's mind, but y'all're spitting into the wind.
Operating an elevator isn't a hobby or art form, that's straight up a false equivalency. I like how you completely ignore reusing vanilla lines and manually sentence mixing, but whatever. You don't have to play my mods if you're going to complain about my choices. I always see people touting how it would "help you quest mods soooo much easier" and the only major things I've seen others use it for is porn and racism, which are both things I don't particularly care for. And I do care for writing good stories and having fun making friends with real human voice actors who enjoy what they do. Enjoy your passionless AI slop. Good day sir.
ah yes i remember when 1920's elevators spread misinformation on the internet, let kids cheat their way through school without learning, and made slop content that fills most social media feeds. An apt comparison good sir!
Should i be allowed to take your voice and face, make deepfake AI edits that are extremely convincing and make them with any subject matter against your wishes( even porn), and spread them around to your friends and coworkers?
Started the mod, chose diamond city to get her gun, didn't have the money to give her. Molly doesn't seem to follow me there, though, She is stuck standing on a random street. Didn't seem to follow me into DC for the Piper/McDonough cutscene either. She'll move a bit when I interact with her but not much. Is the pathfinding bugged or is it something wrong with my game? Playing on next gen if that affects anything.
would love to have a modded follower who's sole purpose is to banter with other followers ...like Inigo in Skyrim Molly, Ivy and Heather talking with each other and joke around with EACH other while idling, sneaking, etc...that would be awesome., heather and Ivy do that with base game companions a little, but not much, and not with each other
I love the mod, but I am wondering why she doesn't comment about any of the character's choices throughout the vanilla game. I understand if you chose to do that simply because you thought it was too much work, but it still seems to create the impression that she simply doesn't belong. That said I did love her personal story and think it would be great to add onto it later, like having her join the Minutemen in order to honor her parents. I am also curious as if you have considered creating a new male companion, which I have noticed are rather rare in comparison to the female original companion mods, perhaps one with a backstory connecting them to the Railroad. And as perhaps have that person interact with Molly at times of a person is using a multiple companion mod.
how did this little gem mod get passed me? i'm always looking for good mods that add in quests or companions in them, and sometimes these mods somehow i miss out on finding out, luckily i found another mod that upgraded her facegen and suddenly i was introduced to this mod that i had no clue about.

>Can't sex the female girl

>You know what happens from here
You'll find no companion that's romanceable there... and if you try, they'll immediately begin to hate you.
