I noticed from the video that the turret does not rotate on the center of the turret right. the axe of rotation needs to be moved a bit.
the turret moves with the gun when aiming, it's not an oscillatory turret, there is a way to just move the gun when aiming vertically, and the ingame turret does that.
I would also try to improve the texture a bit to make it a bit less cartoonish. and maybe reduce the reload rate a bit. it would be more interesting if the reload was twice as long. The damage could be improved a bit to not lose effectiveness. from the video, the enemy seems to be quite the bullet sponge.
otherwise, I could suggest you make a version with the French FL-11 turret. this turret fits pretty well in the atomic era.
In order to do some of the stuff you have referred to the turret would have to have a whole new skeleton setup and it would have to have scripts made for the animations, from what I have been told by people who know a lot more than I do. I don't know how to do either of those things, so I made it as best I could. If it is not to your liking, you could always try to make your own turrets, so you could have them the way you want them to work and look. I have pretty much done everything that I am able to do with the turrets I have made, so that is why they are the way they are. If you feel that you can make an improved turret, than I suggest you make some for yourself.
when I first place these they work fine, but when I leave the area then come back they dont work at all. They just dont see enemies at all even when you are fighting them next to the gun
I have never had that issue. Are you putting them raised up off the ground? That might be an issue. Most turrets need to be at "eye" level or lower to see stuff. If you put the turret on the ground and then put the slab down, they should work fine. Not sure why you are having the issue other wise.
I am having the same problem with the 40k as well. When first placed works fine, leave n come back doesn't see enemies at all. I have spawned 50 at a time and had heaps good fights but both guns have just been dead weight.
I will see if I can figure out if it is something that I can reproduce. You might have a mod conflict with some other mod. If I can figure something out and make a fix for it, I will post it.
First of all, this is a great mod - love it! But, is there any chance you could create a version with a lower defence rating, say 6, like the artillery has? Adding one of these with the base gives me 200 defence so really limits the number of settlement attacks. Would love for a lower rated version so my settlements are attacked more often and get to see this bad boy in action rather than having to spawn enemies to see it.
It is something that you could easily fix with XEdit, but I may get to it someday. I don't personally want to have to worry about my settlements, that's why I made the defense as high as it is. Like I wrote though, I may get to it someday.
is it possible to make a turret that looks like the fallout 4 tanks that are around the map and i think that it would be lore friendly in the way that there are so much many tanks around the map that some would try making their own tank even if it doesnt move it would also be a powerful weapon to have
I never know what I am going to make until I make it. Sorry that I can't give you a better answer. I find free models of stuff that I like and then I make it. Sometimes I release them and sometimes I don't, so you will just have to keep an eye out for stuff I release.

I would love a turret mod, using the ingame APC. Thinking if one could seperate the gun on top of it from the mesh, make it the turret and then use the base APC as the foundation, kinda like you did with this. Would require more skills than I have, but just putting it out there.
