They aren't new helmets. The original helmet can now spawn in all 3 of the colors that are present in the game files. It's like how a pipe pipe pistol can spawn with a stub barrel or with a short barrel. Still the same item with the same ID.
Works as intended. The Boston Mayoral Shelter has 2 helmets at the basketball court, checked it 4 times & all colors appeared. Same with Moe Cronin, reset his inventory 4-5 times, all colors appeared.
I know that during one of the very first SS2 quests, Jake will put on a red-colored Batting Helmet, and give the player a blue one. Will this mod affect that in any way?
Oh they must’ve found the file too. If you don’t already see red and green helmets around with ss2 then it probably doesn’t conflict, as they may have made the red one a separate object rather than a modification of the original. I’ll check later today to be sure though.
(Or if you hop in Xedit and check please let me know your findings, this mod only edits one vanilla record so if Xedit doesn’t show a conflict there then you’re good.)
Just took a look at both mods in Xedit for conflicts, and it doesn't seem like there's any. Also, sorry for all of the message spam from me as of late.
Alright, cool. Good to know. As for the mods, yeah, it doesn't look like they conflict, aside from maybe the helmet that Jake gives the player not being blue by default anymore.

Green is entirely missing from SS2 and Red shows up very rarely as a separate item.
My mod equally distributes all 3 colors everywhere that Batting Helmets are found.
