Notes: - If you already got the Wicked Shipping key before installing the mod, the key has no use anymore, since all the truck trailer door references where removed - PreCombines are not affected - Ideas for containers, loot in trucks, lock level are very welcome, just post everything you would like to see. - Not all doors can be opened or activated - the game has limitations - not all trailers have an open interior, various trailers are inaccessible due to different world models
Planned: The following will be part of a seperate plugin.[list] - Set lock level based on type (master=green, red=expert, rest=advanced) - Add appropiate decoration/objects based on truck trailer type
Thanks for the info @Qrsr, I also wanted to add the key back and after checking the wiki and your info I managed to track down the 4 trailers to add the references back to, and the key to re-enable it.
In case anyone else wants to do it, I'll leave the info on how to do it yourself below:
Spoiler:

Open the mod in FO4Edit, to re-enable the key go here:
Worldspace > 0000003C > Block -1,0 > Sub-Block -3,1 > 0000DE28 > Temporary: 000F75F6Placed ObjectDN152WickedShippingTruckKey "Wicked Shipping Trailer Key" [KEYM:000F75F5] and remove the 'Initially disabled' flag, that will re-enable the key in the world.
To add the reference of that key back to the 4 trailers you need to do it in these 4 trailers (took me a while to find them):
Pretty neat mod so far. Haven't had any issues on my 200+ modded game.
My only critique, is that the locks should be a bit harder, and maybe up the loot a tiny bit. Sometimes I'll open one of the trailers, and just a couple things will be inside. Maybe add an additional duffle bag and/or chest to half of the trailers, and make it into a sort of "Wicked Shipping Trailers Overhaul" kind of deal? Maybe it could be an optional file or a separate mod.
Also, for anyone reading this, if you already got the Wicked Shipping key before installing the mod, you'll still have the actual key in your inventory, but you'll still be prompted to pick the locks as normal, so it shouldn't cause any problems.
Thanks for the feedback. Good points i think its time to place unique containers just for the trucks. The idea with the special Wicked Shipping Trailer Overhaul is also nice.
What about categorization?! There are various colored truck trailers available...
That sounds pretty good! I like the idea of categorized trailers! That way, when I see one of a certain color, I can get excited for "that one probably has ammo!", etc. Maybe something like the following:
Green (Military): Ballistics Ammunition (i.e. non-energy stuff, like 5mm/shells/etc.), non-piped firearms (Double-Barrel Shotguns, Assault Rifles, etc.) Ideally, since these are military trucks, I would say avoid hobbled together stuff, like the pipe-guns. I also wouldn't like to see the 10mm Pistol, because we start with that, but avoid miniguns. However, I can see these trucks carrying minigun ammo.
Stuff like military uniforms and helmets would be very interesting, as well. Frag Grenades and mines would make sense (maybe some of the trucks only carry these, and not ammunitions). I'm dozens of hours into my current save, and I've noticed Assault Rifles aren't too common (they aren't even that strong), but that 5.56 ammo isn't abundant either for some reason. Would be nice if those were in the trucks.
Red (Commerical): Pre-war Foods (Cram, Sugar Bombs, etc.), Nuka Cola (maybe some trucks just carry Nuka Cola machines), Alcohol, etc. Maybe the trucks have shelves in them, leaned up against the sides of the trailers? Food boxes and bottles maybe laying around the place, from when the trailer became dislodged or fell over. White (Pharmaceutical): Addictol, Antibiotics, Bandages, "Legal" Painkillers (Jet, Med X, etc.), Rad Away, Rad X, Stimpacks, etc. Me (and a lot of people) play with Better Locational Damage, and would appreciate easier ways to get ahold of Bandages, as "Bleed" is a common status enemies can inflict. I don't see these trucks carrying Buffout or Pyscho, but I've Jet inside apartment buildings, so that's probably "acceptable" medical aid. Might have to check the wiki on the lore of Fallout's drugs.
Blue (Miscellaneous): Adhesives (Duct Tape, Glues, etc.), Mechanical parts (Fuses, metal parts, etc.), Civilian Tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) Basically, anything you would find in a Home Depo or another Do-It-Yourself style store. Could also throw in some mundane stuff, like brooms and mops.
Ultimately, it's upto you how detailed you want to get with it. I'd be just satisfied with some more interesting loot, but if you want to spruce up the trailers and make them feel more realistic, that'd be cool, too.
Great! Thats something one can build up! Some additions...
Green (Military): Ammo boxes, explosives boxes, footlockers, bunk beds stuff like that. Maybe a weapon truck. But there so many weapons in vanilla that it would be overkill to push even more into trucks. It must be something special in this regard. Maybe a truck hard to reach on a highway... The assault rifle reference of yours of course. And of course the stuff you mentioned like, military uniforms and helmets, frag grenades, mines.
White (Pharmaceutical): Addictol, Antibiotics, Bandages, "Legal" Painkillers (Jet, Med X, etc.), Rad Away, Rad X, Stimpacks, etc.
yes that makes perfect sense!
+1
Ultimately, it's up to you how detailed you want to get with it.
If you want to go really unique with it, each trailer could be its' own special thing, although I imagine that might be rough for 80 trailers. You could just do a truck filled with military outfits though, then another dedicated to frag grenades and mines, maybe one that was carrying one type of gun and ammo, etc. You could easy have trucks dedicated to one thing.
They don't have to be stacked with that one thing either. It's not hard to imagine that someone might have raided the trailer, but didn't finish carrying everything away. The loot doesn't have to be amazing, just better than finding a 10mm Pistol and a few beers, which happens a bit too often with vanilla.
They don't have to be strictly "as before the war" though. For instance, you could have trailers that someone previously discovered and used as a makeshift home, but then had to abandon it, locking the door when they left. This would especially be interesting to people like me who play Survival. I try to avoid Fast Travel, and trying to find a clean bed to rest in can be rough sometimes. Having a trailer act as a safe haven in the middle of nowhere, far away from cities or settlements would be an amazing find in itself. It wouldn't even need a lot of supplies. The bed itself would be nice.
Honestly, this has a lot of potential. You could even do a questline fleshing out the Wicked Shipping place, tied to a few of these trailers, with special rewards. If your not aware, I believe the Wicked Shipping company was a front for the mafia or some crime thing. This whole thing is ripe with stuff you could do. I don't think anyone else has done anything with the Trailers, so it would be kind of refreshing.
I would suggest making the Military truck doors Master locked, the pharmaceutical truck doors Expert locked, and the food/junk/misc truck doors advanced locked. This would indicate what level of security each organization finds worth using. Master level for Military, because their items are very expensive and dangerous for citizens to get their hands on. Expert level for Pharmaceutical, because their goods are still very expensive and dangerous, but not as much as the Military. And Advanced level for food/junk/misc, because their goods aren't as expensive and are easier to produce, which would make them more likely to be willing to take the loss if they get robbed.
Maybe make some trucks open or unlocked and picked clean, maybe just having scraps. Since people would definitely have looted the trucks right after the bombs dropped.
I apologize if you've already considered this or even have some of this in the mod already.
@Babaloo321 great idea too. Both of you are already part of the project haha. I think that makes perfect sense. Lock level based on type. We can even argue of putting a complete X01 power armor part set in one of the trucks.
And maybe a little side quest, a note of some veteran who was able to open a military truck and maybe put a key next to him or a recipe how to craft such a key or tool to open such trucks.
EDIT: The next version will split the default doors based on type. Then i will start adding the discussed content, features and release this version as a seperate file.

That would be pretty interesting. The crafting system in Fallout 4 is nice to have, but it is woefully underutilized outside of Settlement stuff. Having a recipe to make a quest item (even if it requires a lot) would really encourage me to go out of my way to hunt those materials down. Although, the reward would have to be worth it (a fully rigged Power Armor sounds worth the effort, though).
To add more depth, perhaps the guy left a note behind, vaguely detailing where you can probably find some of the items. Maybe he built the "key" before, but lost it running away from a Deathclaw or some event, and the note is just self reference on where he could go to collect junk to rebuild the "key", so he could go get his Power Armor or whatever, in order to deal with the situation he lost the "key" because of in the first place:
"I'm going to need a thin, long piece to insert into the lock mechanism and hit some tiny, sensitive spots. A surgical grade needle point would probably be fine. I think I saw the remains hospital on the east side of Lexington, but the place looked like it was crawling with giant, green bastards. Might not be worth the risk, they probably smashed anything useful in there, anyway. Maybe I'll just use a coat hanger..."
Yeah. I think when im done with my current projects i will add more life to the commonwealth. Especially by replacing a myriad of skeletons. To get rid of all those brain fart moments in Fo4.
There is/are alot of interesting scripted furniture you can link to ambush scenarios. Especially interesting in regard to looting/exploring truck trailers
Slightly different, there was stuff in the trailers for free, for the only survivor of the commonwealth. Now you need to come by a trailer door which can be open or closed, locked or unlocked.
