    Through fire, and flood, and plague - through development hell and through many personal struggles - WARS and PEACE are finally out! Difficult mods, made in difficult times.

    I thought that Clockwork would remain my most ambitious mod project, but now with these two mammoth sister mods for Fallout 4, I'm not so sure. (Together they took longer than Clockwork, but individually they took less time.)

    I never doubted that I'd get these mods out there in the end, but I also never thought that they'd take so long. I've very much enjoyed finally playing Fallout 4 again (first time since the game came out), this time with WARS and PEACE, in my test playthrough. It was worth the wait, for me. I hope you enjoy it too.

    Actually I think I'll add this to the sticky post too:

    I'm thinking (and I did expect this) that interest in WARS and PEACE will be kind of a slow burn. Setting up a load order based around a new overhaul mod (or a pair of sister overhaul mods, if you were to go for the intended experience and use both) is not going to be a simple proposition for most people.

    Something I'd suggest though - if you're interested in the mods - is to have a look at potentially adding a new profile in your mod manager that is for WARS and/or PEACE. That way you can try them out without having to risk messing up any established load order you may have.

    And then: A new game, with a new approach.

    Firstly great mod, I managed to get it to work perfectly until I had an issue with another mod (uninstalled it, redid the f4edits for both this and fallui item sorting)

    And now for some weird reason even though I followed the install instructions, installed the required mods(and most of the recommended) I am not seeing the dirty or awful part on the weapon in either hover over when looking at, the pipboy or when in inspect weapon at the top underneath the name. They still exist in the current mods so I know that they are still there but I am confused as to how they are not appearing in the other place (They were before I uninstalled the other mod. It was true perks btw) 

    I know that I have done something stupid but I just cant work out what I have done. 

    (Subsonic is appearing underneath ammo.)

      This is kind of a guess since I can't see exactly what you've done there, but if you're talking about the dynamic naming (sometimes referred to as INNR) stuff for the weapons where their names change as you modify them, those names should update if you drop the weapon and pick it up again, or go to modify it at a weapon bench.

      If they're still not showing up after that, you've probably got some kind of conflict; see the WARS installation instructions for more info on that.

      I mean the gray text under the white text (e.g. author images, fifth page, Mini-30 Carbine is in white and directly underneath that in gray text is Awful | Clean.) 

      I took a look through FO4 Edit and the only conflicts it has is with the WARS-ammotweeksV1integration.esp (Looking specifically at the security baton and the Walther PPK. I start a new game each time I change things to test so I notice it before I have left the vault.) 

      Some of the melee weapons have M8r Complex sorters esp after them but that's in the final steps of the installation and auto sorts to the bottom of the list due to loot. 

      I made sure that the WARS-FIS-CustomItemSorterINI and the PEACE - FIS - Custom Item Sorter INI were installed before I ran the FO4 edit script

      The only thing overwriting WARS-WeaponAdditionandReplacementSuite.esp in the instance naming rules (in FO4Edit) is WARS-ammotweeksV1integration.esp and M8 complex sorter.esp (which is what I called the sorted esp.)


      I tried to modify it at a workbench and nothing changed, the gray text is still non existent. (e.g. on the security baton it says "Security" but on the Walther PPK it does not say anything in gray.)

      [Update, for some weird reason it's fixed when M8 complex sorter.esp (the esp from M8r98af2's Complex Sorter for FIS/FallUI) is disabled but is bugged when the esp is enabled, I have no clue why. What issues would there be if the esp was just left disabled would your new weapons be unsorted?]

      [New Update: I have worked out what stupid thing I did, I read through the requirements/recommended mods and clicked on the green links downloaded and downloaded those... but when I moved onto the "installation" section I completely forgot to check off the INNR part of the M8r98af2's Complex Sorter thingie. Got it working now, you were right. Thank you]

    First off, great mod. Using it together with PEACE and it's really up my alley, adds just enough realism without sacrificing the fun and drowning you in crafting menus. 

    I have run into a small issue that that I wasn't able to find any mention of though. I can't get any companion replacer mods (head models only) to work unless I load them after WARS, which in turn messes up things in WARS (e.g. weird behavior with the ammo swap system, guns showing equipped ammo as "none" etc). Is that expected or did I mess up somehow?

      If those mods edit the companions' Actor records, they will conflict with WARS (and likely PEACE too). You can check to see if/how they're conflicting by looking at them in FO4Edit with your whole load order loaded.

    is there anyway to convert sub type ammos? eg. turn a .45 Surp into a FMJ

      never mind... i just built the ammo scrapper then i just craft to an FMJ

    Hi, i had a problem with Ammo Tweak, i know it suppose to show AmmoTweak-WARS or something along the line but mine only show AmmoTweak, I looked through the comment section but I can't find a solution to it, I know that it maybe some conflicts but I already disable the 2 defaults plugins. I just feel too cumbersome to spam E everytime i reload.

      for me to fix it i downloaded AMMO tweaks first then WARS it fixes it everytime

    I installed everything like the instructions said but no matter what I do it says ammotweaks_core is disabled.

      Sorry, but I have to say it: make sure that AmmoTweaks is installed and that AmmoTweaks_Core.esp is enabled. I can't imagine any other reason for seeing a message like that. (I'm assuming that message was in your mod manager?)

      If you're not used to the mod manager you're using - perhaps for manual downloads or even just generally - look up some tutorials on using that mod manager. There are bound to be some around.

      I'm getting that message in the mcm in game and I have AmmoTweaks_Core.esp enabled in my mod manager.

      Huh. I've never heard of that happening in MCM before - MCM in general, I mean; let alone WARS specifically - so this isn't due to some issue in WARS itself, basically.

      I'm very busy at the moment so I don't have time to look into this too deeply, but this came up from a brief search. Not sure if it's a similar issue to what you're seeing.

    hy sorry to be back here again but idk what is broken i played last time for 10 hours in which except for laser rifle and plasma sniper rifle all had their duration but almost all weapons had to cycle through ammo type and only in the m 111 pistol and pump shotgun i got the menu to change my ammo. and this new play through only laser rifle has duration   and that still is only on cycle and in other weapons neither do they have durability nor can i cycle ammo i tried re downloading this whole mod and ammo tweaks both but still the problem is the same. i dont have any other wepon mods except this one so idk whats causing this how do i fix it

      The ammo swap menu will only show if you've got more than one other ammo sub-type in your inventory that you can switch to; no point, otherwise.

      If you've definitely got more than one sub-type you can switch to, and the ammo swap menu is enabled in the MCM menu, but it's instead cycling through sub-types... I haven't had a report of that before. Especially only doing that for some weapons and not others. Not sure how that could be possible, given how the scripts are set up. Simply not having more than one sub-type to switch to seems far more likely.


      Actually... did you disable the AmmoTweaks "default" plugins, as per the WARS installation instructions? And do you have the correct install/deploy order for WARS vs AmmoTweaks, again as per the installation instructions?

      It definitely sounds like you've got some conflicts, and if you're sure you don't have any other mods installed that edit weapons (you can use FO4Edit to check, by the way), then it sounds like you've still got those AmmoTweaks "default" plugins in there.

      yup i disabled the two defult ones and only have the core and and i have setup the load order for both correctly (i went in game to check and yes i have ammotweaks wars instead of ammotweaks ) still its cycling through ammos for example for laser rifle i got the MFG and and mfg bundle when i click on the swap ammo hot key it just cycles through it all before this playthrough it used to cycle through all available and non available ammo types i am gonna delete this play through reconfigure the mod again or just redownload it and see what happens

      i just started new and still nothing inly plasma and laser wepons have |dirty in their name non others i am using the cheater den mod to see it all idk how to send a screenshot here otherwise i would have send the pic

      "MFG and and mfg bundle" - Do you mean MFC STND (i.e. vanilla "Fusion Cells", renamed) and MFC Bulk? If you've only got those two, you won't see the ammo swap menu; it will just swap back and forth between them.

      Cycling through all available and unavailable ammo sub-types is "vanilla" AmmoTweaks v1 behaviour. Skipping over sub-types you don't have - and the ammo swap menu itself - are things I added in WARS.

      If you're only seeing "Dirty", "Clean", etc in some weapon names and not others, it really sounds like you've got some conflicting mods installed. See the WARS installation instructions for info on how to identify those using FO4Edit.

      alright thankyou for your time can it be caused by the attachment pack mod because i use that mod too ?

      Yes, that mod is probably extremely incompatible with WARS.

      You don't have to guess, though; just check using FO4Edit.

      you say so but the first time where everything was loading good i had that it was in my load order before WARS and it was functioning properly but i also added WARS in my first playthrough midgame. also i have never used FO4   just as instruction i went to the WARS-WeaponAdditionandReplacementSuite.esp and wepons and most were all red i did use FO4 autoclean on the esp and started a new file still nothing should i try deleting the attachment pack and do it ? you dont have any discord or anything i can send the images to ?

      strangely enough looks like the mod unlimited companion framework was the root mod causing issue it was the recent mod i downloaded and after deleting it looks like everything is functioning again its strange how a mod that has nothing to do with weapons caused it

    Does anyone know if WARS or PEACE works in VR?

    i have been setting up Fallout for VR and want to know if i can use my 2 favourite mods
    if anyone is wondering what i am using it's the Meta Quest 3 headset

      I haven't tried either mod in VR.

      I expect that WARS should work as long as its required mods work.

      PEACE should be fine; can't imagine any problems there.

      I'd be interested to hear from people who have actually tried WARS and/or PEACE in FO4VR, though.

    Absolutely awesome looking mods, hope to try them out soon! Still playing with my own painful-survival mod pack right now with a focus on Nuclear Winter and Gas Masks of the commonwealth. They seem like they affect different things so I hope those will work with WARS and PEACE. I actually have much of the same effects happening with Modern Weapon Replacers, AN76, and Scourge and a few different bullet framework mods doing a lot of the same work as yours. 

    I wish there was an option to open up the third party mod compatibility more by disabling the condition framework, but I'm sure it's not that simple. I'll just need to get less attached to my weapon mods or try my had at patching the ones I am attached to. Just a little daunting is all. That and PEACE patches for the CROSS armors that I am far too attached to.

      Disabling the weapon durability stuff is definitely not simple. It ties into a lot of things in the mod. Just disabling that on its own wouldn't really be enough to make unpatched third-party weapon mods work smoothly alongside WARS, anyway.

      Not sure about Nuclear Winter, but Gas Masks of the Wasteland seems on the face of it like it should work with WARS and PEACE, if it's set to load after PEACE.

    I'm not sure if its a problem with vortex, but the perk changes aren't reverting after disabling the mod.
    edit: verified game files on steam, fixed my issue.
    edit: the perk edits came back reinstalling to try to fix it, HUGE inconvenience.

      From the readme/description:

      Save games

      - Start a new game upon installing WARS. Not doing so is unsupported.

      - Do not uninstall WARS if you intend to keep using a save file made with WARS installed. Wait until you're finished with that character before uninstalling.
