I've replaced my old fork of F4EE.dll with a plugin that modifies the offical version. The plugin works for 1.10.984 (NG) too - I couldn't patch the "exploding face" bug, but you won't accidentally delete the wrong overlays now. If you use Buffout on 1.10.163, remember to re-enable the LooksMenu patch there.
If you have another mod that conflicts with my overlay deletion bug fix, you can disable mine by editing f4ee_fixes.ini and setting bEnableUIDPatch to 0.
I haven't had any bug reports, but if you think you've found something please let me know!
Hey man, ive installed the mod and also installed the 8k skin textures fix but i cant seem to find the mod in mcm. im on new gen, using bodyslide if that helps. do u have any ideas on how to fix this? thanks for this mod anyway
Heya, I'll try to help if I can. This might be a core dependancy issue, maybe something isn't installed correctly?
What mod manager are you using? Have you checked that the NG versions of F4SE, MCM and LooksMenu are all working? Open "Documents\My Games\Fallout4\F4SE\f4se.log" in Notepad. It should tell you that f4ee.dll, f4ee_fixes.dll, mcm.dll and NailPolish.dll are all loaded ok.
I normally use MO2 but I can try the latest version of Vortex on my machine to make sure nothing's changed.
Hello bro, firstly i just wanna say that the mod works now no issue and looks great. secondly i wanna thank u for checking mine and all these other peoples comments just to try to help us. modders like u are the best
need help! The nail textures/ colors are not working on the hands or the feet. the mod is working via MCM and the nail polish is going into my inventory. I tried a fresh new save with just the mod and requirements with my body mods, body talk and fusion girl with same outcome. I dont think their is a conflict just a bug with the looks menu. possibly. I also use MO2. any help would be great.
Hmm, you could be right. There are some log files you can look at.
"My Games\Fallout4\F4SE\f4ee_fixes.log" should tell you it's patched the official Expired version of the LooksMenu dll. My mod should work if you have a different dll, but I can't guarantee it.
"My Games\Fallout4\F4SE\NailPolish.log" and "My Games\Fallout4\Logs\Script\User\NailPolish.0.log" might have more information, but it sounds like the scripts are working.
Hopefully that'll point you in the right direction.
thanks for the reply. Ive isolated the root problem and the mod is working fully but the textures alone isnt showing up for Bodytalks3 only. any solutions?
Bodytalk 3.9 - it's probably my fault, I'm really sorry. Hands also don't work for me (but feet are fine). Maybe it's another installer problem - I'll try to fix it asap.
The bad news is the author of Bodytalk enabled the colors flag on the vertex desc for the 3.9 hand meshes, which prevents skin-tinted overlays from working. Nail art textures (like Skulls etc) work fine, but the custom colors won't.
Thank you for making me aware of this! I'm really grateful for any bug-finding people do.
I don't have permission to make a patch for this, but I can make bug report and hope for the best. Atm you'll need to either use Bodytalk 3.8 or fix it yourself very easily. If you want to fix this yourself, you can download NifSkope and edit the meshes. The two main files are
(But there will be a couple of gloves that might have the same problem.)
Just open the mesh in NifSkope, select the "BSSubIndexTriShape" node. In the Block Details section below, right-click on the "Vertex Desc" line and select "Vertex Flags". Uncheck "Colors", click ok and save the mesh.
VVUNDERBRA!!! The down Graded body talks is a solid quick fix and actually works!!! Your work is fantastic and your knowledge is unbelievable. Thank you for the time and I will Send screen shots. Thank you a f*#@ TON!
The color your site gives is supposed to work - the format is #RRGGBB.
But I think you've found a bug in my mod. I just tested it, and the green and blue were swapped. For now just switch the green and blue - instead of #00ffaa, type #00aaff into my mod.
I hope that makes sense. I thought I fixed this ages ago, but maybe I broke it when I merged the code into v1.8. I'll try to work out what happened and fix it asap.
Oh I see - shaped nails would be nice, but I'd need to patch a lot of clothing. If I can think of a way to cut down the work, I might make a custom hand mesh.
Trish gloves - are you using something other than CBBE? It looks ok to me:
When i try to apply paint on nails or toes. It said, they are already painted. But there's no color on them. When i refresh Hipoly face (MCM) the toes color return, but no hands. I use 8k FSM Body Texture Extreme. I need to use the 8K Body patch?
Hi. Sorry for the info-dump, but without more info it could be a bunch of things. What game version are you running, and do you have any other mods that patch or replace LooksMenu?
The "8K Realistic Skin Textures" patch is for this mod specifically. The name's a bit confusing, it's not for 8K textures in general.
FSM Body Texture Extreme doesn't seem to be on Nexus, so it's hard for me to check. I'll see if I can find a copy. CBBE also apparently got an update, so I'll double check that too.
Delete any old INP v1.6 stuff, and reinstall INP v1.8. Use the MCM button that removes all polish, and try a textured polish like Skulls with vanilla clothing (or naked). Hipoly Faces doesn't affect those textures.
Refreshing Hipoly Faces reloads your body mesh, so it might just be fixing a different problem. Use the patch that comes with INP v1.8, the separate v1.6 patch doesn't work with the latest HPF and will break things.
No finger polish at all could be a FusionGirl mesh with CBBE textures. This could be from a piece of clothing, as they replace body parts.
Ohh the gloves, the vtaw gloves for some reason change the hands texture. When i unequip the gloves, the FSM base hand texture returns and the nail paint aswell. There's a way to fix that? Use vtaw gloves without changing the hands textures?
That's weird after I updated to 1.8 the polish applying stopped working completely, removed applied material before updating, disabled all default settings in config. None of those steps let it works, had to revert to old version. (
Heya, I'll try to help if I can. Are you using Vortex or MO2?
Normally you'd just remove old polish using the button in the MCM (or using the nail polish remover bottles), save the game and install the new version, replacing 1.6. What do you mean by "disabled all default settings in config"?
Somewhere you might have MCM\Settings\NailPolish.ini. You can delete this (or move it somewhere else) to reset all the settings. Don't worry if you don't have one.
In your mod manager, maybe try uninstalling INP 1.6, the 1.6.1 patch and the HiPoly Faces patch completely, then install 1.8. If you're using the 8K skin patch, you should leave that installed. I haven't tested it with 1.8 but it should be fine.
Kinda obvious, but double-check you're picking the right body type. I'm not sure all mod managers remember what you previously chose.
There are a few logs you can look at. My Games\Fallout4\F4SE\f4ee_fixes.log should tell you it found F4EE (specifically "v1.6.20, Expired official"). NailPolish.log should have entries that say StateManager::AddState when you apply polish. If you see these, it means the code is working, but you're having a material issue (which usually means an issue with body types or skin textures).
Well, now I know what's went wrong, thanks for the generated log you mentioned, I renamed the f4ee.dll via MO2's built-in hide feature, must happened when I try installing the previous version about one year ago, and yeah as 1.8 doesn't provide a pre-patched f4ee.dll, that would be obvious. LOL
Besides, the config settings I mean are the parameters located in /f4se/plugins, can't remember why I didn't make it clear, my fault. :P
I mean, I've installed the INP v1.8, and I think everything works properly, but didn't have the time to test it completely. I immediately noticed that my companion lost her nails, so I'd need to re-apply them, but that's a minor one.
Also, I'm running HiPoly Faces Redux and they seem to work properly.
Heya! I had a quick look - it's not compatible at all. You don't need it anyway, INP has been fixing that issue since 1.0.
With 1.8 I've made a new plugin that patches the official LooksMenu dll - so that's the one you need to use.
This came about because I tried using Native Animation Framework to make the new cover image, and realised the face anims didn't work. So hopefully this change will improve compatibility with other mods too.
Hi, I love your mod, but even with the hypolyface patch my pc nails still turn grey when I load a save or fast travel. I really don't know what to do ;-;
EDit: Nevermind, it was one of the clothing mods that was affecting the nail colors, I'm sorry for wasting your time, I should've tried checking that before commenting.

Soo... First of all, love ur mod!! Second, I see that we can change de colors ourselfs but how do I choose the right color like:
Name Nail Polish, Black
Color #000000
How can I know the exactly pallet number?? I use this RGB Color Picker in a mod once... Apreciated the attention S2

Ty for you fast replay.
There's no quick fix unfortunately. You'll need to find a version of the gloves with proper CBBE hands, or edit the mesh yourself in Outfit Studio.
Yes, those mods should work. 是的,这些模组应该可以工作.
(I used Google Translate, I hope I understood the question!)
