Honestly... I'm not sure. Though, you could test it if you wanted to.
All you'd have to do is drop a quicksave, and kill one of the named caravan trader's brahmin. If it's corpse has a s#*! ton of extra loot, then you'll know it worked!
If not, then you'd need to restart.
Make sure to check back in if you find out the answer!
PS - If you have a lot of scripts running in the background, just wait like an extra 10-15 seconds if it doesn't seem like the extra loot dropped right away. I've noticed that sometimes script lag can make it take longer than it should.
Does appear to be working and safe as far as I can tell. Probably won't work on previously looted/killed vendors though so you folks watch out for that lol.
Yeah, it definitely won't work on vendors that are already dead. The script runs every time specific NPCs (Vendors and caravan brahmin) die, so there's no surprise there. Thanks for reporting back!
Would the script work for Fallout London? If it does i would like to try make a patch for london in xedit any tips would be appreciated since i have almost no modding experience
does this work on arturo in diamond city because with the old mod he wouldnt drop stuff im using a mod to remove essential tags i also tested to see if the mod would work by using the kill command does this make it not work
honestly surprised this isn't bigger, i was at drumlin diner and though about how wolfgang can give you caps but if you kill him later you cannot find those caps (that he magically created) this mod is great what im looking for !
Approaching my .BA2 limit... does the plugin just load the archive & can I extract the stuff from the .ba2 & dump 'em as loose files to their appropriate folder?
Don't change the packaging for me. I dunno if others prefer the ba2 or loose... as long as I can fudge around the limits by merging stuff in CAO -or- dumping stuff to loose files {where I won't kerfuckle things or threaten performance much}, I'm good.
It may just be on my side, but it seems that aspiration items don't actually drop. In my testing even if you directly access the vendor chest they aren't there (they get added by a quest). Trudy seems to be the exception as her items (General Chao's Revenge and a random silenced pipe gun) are added by a script into her normal vendor chest and not the Aspiration chest.

I'll probably update it to swap the ba2 in favor of loose.

P.S. - Love your work. Keep it coming.
I'll just release it as a separate file, then.
I guess for now, think of it as a perk of actually trading with them, instead of killing them and losing them as a vendor forever.
I'm not really interested in doing it that way as of now. Maybe someday, but not now.
You'd probably get more by just keeping them alive and trading with them, just over a longer period of time.
