    how has it taken this long for a mod to come out to fix this

      It was a bit difficult to figure out which vertices exactly were broken, especially due to the way the animation is set up. I changed the coordiantes in the bone's interpolator to move it away from the doorframe just to be able to even see the issue in NifSkope. Then used the arrow keys to go through the triangles (NifSkope highlights the tri if it's selected) until I found the bad ones, and then looked at each of the 3 vertices in that triangle.
