For my mental health (EUPD/BPD - borderline personality disorder here), I'm implementing the following policy:
I am not here to fight; I do this to relax in my free time, so I, regrettably, have to draw the line somewhere.
If you're here to drop a comment, I'll still welcome all of them, not counting the aforementioned rants. Bug reports are most welcome. Requests, suggestions, questions, constructive criticism (I explain why I did things the way I did, but rest assured I still hear your criticism), all of it.
I am a computer science grad interested in machine learning, development, audio engineering, and AI. This has been the case for years. The emergence of better tools only strengthens this.
To put it bluntly and non-chalantly: If you're here to rant about AI - your interests don't entitle you to put down mine. You have better things to do.
Let's remain civil, respectful, and not act like children. Unless it's for a laugh on both sides. It's unfathomable to me, that I have to make this post in the 21st century.
Always wanted Father Gabe as a settler. I've used him as a temporary simple companion using console commands several times but unfortunately the vanilla character has very little dialog other than combat stuff.
The ESP file works great, but the ESL has problems. Father Gabe is hostile and there is no dialog option. This was tested on a vanilla character. He is level 66, if that makes a difference.
Thanks for testing it on a vanilla character, that saved my time and I could get straight to fixing lol, moved to bugs, should be fixed in version 1.1. (currently highest version^)
No problem, I keep a vanilla character for testing my own small mods now.
Consider making an Emogene Cabot companion. She makes a great simple follower using the console, even though she'll only say "Yes?" and "Oh, it's YOU." But love the disdainful tone. The extra dialog between her and her mother should be useful.
Two things: 1) Love this mod and concept. Fallout 4 was half-assed about being a settlement game and there should be more unique characters you find and recruit throughout the wasteland, instead of unique characters you find and kill.
2) Father Gabe works except he is hostile to all of the traveling vendors. Is there a way I can fix this?
I went inside the chapel and there were only a bunch of ghouls and a character named "Ungodly Mozgus" immediatly being hostile with Father Gabe nowhere to find. How did that happen? :/
Okay, found the mod and deactivated it. Thank you very much. Hopefully Father Gabe will be there now to speak to my people. Also, your every single mod is very great.
Hmm, not sure whats wrong on my play through. I've got the mod installed, and I had not done the father gabe encounter yet on this play through but he is hostile just like usual for me. Am I missing something here? Something i was supposed to do before walking in? After walking in?
I know the mod is half-way working because Cait beat the brakes off this poor man 12 times and he didn't die. But there are no options to speak to him.
No, it should work without any additional steps. However, mods are made to be installed before a new game or at the very least a clean save, so many things could be wrong here. I would suggest trying to approach him without Cait. It could also be caused by a mod conflict.
Apologies, I don't do compatibility patches, unless there's a lot of people asking, as I'd set a precedent where I'd have to do this for everything I release in the name of fairness. Although I do find it a bit strange that
This is a great idea for a unique settlement NPC. I have Crimsonrider's Unique Furniture. It gives you a preacher's pulpit which you can assign and gives settlement happiness. Be nice to have a real preacher keep the masses at Sanctuary in line. I always hated having to kill him. I think one of the feral mods makes him non-hostile, but he just stands there and doesn't say anything. This will be another new outcast wandering Sanctuary.
