About this mod:

You can cure and recruit the Mariner after you complete "The Great Hunt".

Recruitment quest: I wrote a short side quest to recruit her. Shortly after you and the Mariner kill The Red Death, a boat wreckage shows up south of Far Harbor. Besides some lootable items, you can find Kevin, the boatman and a letter there. The letter was apparently sent to Doc Teddy by another doctor named Dr. Derek Carry as a reply to Teddy's consultation request regarding the Mariner's condition. Carry states he and his team may have found the cure for the Mariner's disease. He also writes down where can "someone who's capable" find it. Once it's retrieved, let the Mariner know about the cure. By the time you arrive back to Far Harbor, she isn't at home, she went out for firewood with a few harbormen (she leaves a note). Put the cure on her bed and leave a letter for her. As she previously told you she's been thinking about "sailing away" and never coming back to Far Harbor, in your letter, you can offer her a new home inland (settlement along with the coordinates are optional). After she returns home, reads your letter and uses the cure, she'll be waiting for you staring at the ocean on the dock at the Nakano residence. She thanks you and you get to choose which settlement you'd like her to go.

The recruitment quest has only one dialogue scene so you won't have much interaction with her during the quest but I managed to add a nice number of greeting and reaction lines to her. Of course after she's recruited, she can be traded with too.

Notes: after one of her greeting lines, she gives you food (steak) as a "thank you gift". Turning against Far Harbor after recruiting her doesn't affect her in any way, it does not turn her hostile.

Requirements:

Far Harbor DLC. In order to recruit her normally (so without the console), she has to be alive.
