Loving it, what about adding a requirement to the sap bucket in the workshop menu? Can be crafted once the recipe from CoA is given to the player char.
I. Have wanted this. For YEARS. I'm not even joking. I literally tried to learn how to mod to do this and failed. I'm downloading it as we speak, but I had to say thank you even before I get it running because. As someone who grew up only a spit from New England. The utter lack of maple stuff in the vanilla game (and its utterly stupid implementation in Far Harbor) blows my mind. Having sap buckets makes me SO INSANELY HAPPY, you have no idea.
Do you happen to have any plans to create recipes to go with this? I still don't understand how a game set in New England has no maple candy or maple syrup, and I'd love to see them added.
I actually have an upcoming mod adding dozens of New England dishes adapted to the post-apocalypse, it's about 2/3 of the way done, just need to do another balancing pass over, give some models to a few that currently have place holders, and then build the leveled list injector so they show up in the world.
One of those dishes is Johnnycakes from Rhode Island, which is made with 2 wild corn, 1 raw sap, and 1 wild tarberry in return for 90hp and +2% xp for 15 mins. At the moment that's the only thing that uses raw sap, other than Ware's Brew from the DLC. I may add another couple recipes that use it though.
I may also make a little mini-maple themed addon just for this mod. We'll see.
Oh interesting, hadn't heard of that mod before but it adds a good amount of stuff. There shouldn't be a conflict with the way I'm doing things, but I'll of course doublecheck to be sure before publishing.
CHEF is one of my go-tos and I'm thrilled to hear it should mesh! I can't wait to see where this goes. Placed my first bucket last night, just waiting for the sap to roll in....
Unfortunately neither the sap bucket nor the trees show up for me. Some other mods do that too (eg. some of the items in Kurotab). No idea why; usually it's because I lack the mesh.
Found and fixed the issue, left out a folder in turning it into an BA2 file, try again now. An embarrassing mistake but easy to fix at least. Thank you for the report.
I tried the just the bucket version, but no bucket appears after construction. I have all dlc installed and active. No crash or any thing like that, and no error messages. I could not interact with the spot the bucked should have been. So, dunno.
Fixed, try the bucket version now. Going to see if it's the same issue for dolours here and likely upload a new version of that too. Thank you for the report.
Heya! Damn, this is actually a wonderful idea! Any chance to make a combination of this mod and your default version of Functional Wild and Fresh crops as an optional download? To save a bit of archive count.
Yup, this will actually be added into Wild & Fresh crops in its next update, 1.13, which I should be putting out soon. I figured some folks might like a standalone version though, so put this out early.
I actually have a New England recipes mod about two-thirds done that has Johnnycakes which are essentially that, but made with flint corn. Currently the recipe is 2 wild corn, 1 raw sap, and 1 wild tarberry in return for 90hp and +2% xp for 15 mins. Hopefully I'll be releasing that soon.
In Fallout 76, you can get something that's exactly like this but it produces non-food sap which is used to make adhesive. Could something like that be added?

Something like, after acquiring Ware's brew recipe from Zealot Ware in the Nucleus, raw zap can be crafted in the workshop menu.
Thanks for the mod.
Works as intended though, great job, ty

Gonna go track your profile now. And then go build a sap farm.
Anyway, great job already!
Edit: Was able to replicate the problem, working on a fix now.
