For those of you using Classic Holstered Weapons, there is an optional version of the mod you need to download. Without this version, your game will likely crash in 3rd person or at the very least, the gun will appear broken. So yeah... download that one lol. The Stickied post below this one is for those who don't want to download that one for some reason. That post was relevant before this updated version.
Spoilers!! For those of you that are stuck at some point in the dungeon, check out this video. I sort of speed run it and just show how to progress through the mod.
The ini edit works for me on the older CHW Verizon 1.04c see which version you are using.
Read the sticky post on CHW page about the version.
Classic Holstered Weapons mod page "With 1.06b version, If you are encountering some parts of weapon mods being invisible when holstered, either ask mod author to remove unnecessary skinned vertex flag from their .nif file nodes, do it youreself (if you know how) or roll back to 1.04c version."
Downgrading from 1.06 to 1.04 goes from displaying only the barrel straight to CTD, even after adding the above suggested line to the .ini file (which unfortunately doesn't seem to do anything in game).
EDIT: Nevermind, the above suggested line works at hiding the gun; just don't be a dummy like me and make sure you're actually adding it at the bottom of the file as instructed, instead of adding it to the "examples" list. /facepalm
Thought the mod was broken, could not take the Data Containers while in Power Armor - No message pops up saying so. it just does nothing. After watching a tad bit of the video showing how to do the dungeon i felt stupid when he just walked up and took it like it was nothing. So, now i know, can't do the dungeon in a Power Armor. Would have been great help to know ahead of time...
First off, I love this mod. The dungeon was great, and the shotgun is easily the best in the game. My only issue is the range. I'm seeing 175, which is 3 times the normal range of shotguns and at the range of my 5.56 weapons. I've compared all the barrel lengths in the Hunting Shotgun mod and this, and can find virtually no differences in stats in FO4Edit. Which stats can I change to give it a much more comparable 60 or 75?
EDIT: I've identified in game it is the choke (which IRL is something you definitely want on a quality shotgun) which gives the abnormally long range for buckshot. In FO4Edit it seems to have the same range stats as the Standard Barrel IIRC). Would the two be combining for such a long range?
Thanks a bunch, great animation, feel etc, endorsed For the CHW - Select Shotgun Gun Only ESL, you forgot to add the textures, you can see the size difference :-)
I got a mod installed which let you have different ammo types like it was in FO New Vegas (Buck, slug, dragon breath for example). But I saw from one of the user videos you can also change ammo type to slug. Do you think it'll work at least if I leave it to usual buck and still switch to a different ammo type form my inventory?

Locate your ClassicHolsteredWeaponsConfig.ini file in Data/F4SE/Plugins and at the bottom, add ExcludedWeaponFormId_SSTG_Weapon=SelectShotgun.esp|F99
This will prevent CHW from holstering the Select Shotgun on all characters and stop the CTDs.
