Have you ever found yourself excited to get a new settlement, and get started building, only to discover there are literal piles of trash everywhere you cannot scrap and broken objects that are also not removable? So what is a player to do? A popular option for many is Scrap Everything, but that mod does not play well with many other mods as it breaks what is known as Precombines. Another option is for those with beefy systems to disable all Precombines in the game ini file. Both those options work poorly with larger mod series for example Sim Settlements 2, Horizon, etc.

Well my DC & R series is all about giving the cleaning power back to the player while keeping updated Precombines and Previs(PnP) thus maintaining cross mod compatibility, keeping the original game visual style(s) and being very lore friendly. This series removes those permanent unsightly trash and structural restrictions while keeping all the original removable objects, even trash, letting the player keep or scrap as they see fit.

The remodel portion addresses the other issue, which is that many vanilla structures cannot be repaired in game without using a strange mismatch of parts. While excellent sets like Snappy lets you repair using appropriate part types, many damaged bldg sections cannot be removed in-game. Most repaired home/settlement mods that are downloadable (done in CK) don't have Previs/Precombines either. So the goal here is twofold: maintain original design using lore friendly matching parts with basic structural repair i.e., walls, floor or ceilings, AND to remove those permanent beds, counters, bathroom stalls, etc, that prevent deeper levels of settlement customization. For many of my mods there are layered options to rebuild from the foundation up.

If you have any issues with missing visuals or collisions, or any other strange occurrences, please post below, preferably with load order and a screen shot.

Also if you see something that you think should be removed that I missed, like trash, plants etc, please let me know. Given the massive scope of having Deep cleaned all the vanilla settlements but 2 I am sure to have missed some stuff.

    Happy building!

Hey just a friendly reminder about Place Everywhere. In Far Harbor settlements this mod is like God mode for scrapping, just hit the Insert Key. Most everything, and I mean almost everything can be scrapped, so yeah terrain features, most structural parts....

    How safe is it?
No clue just passing along the message.

Make sure to Download the Library Support Plugin if you are using V1.10!

If you are using the collection it is already included.

Whatever brain fart nexus was having decided to fix itself, after I posted to discord, not sure if that is related.

V1.10 - Lanterns/Fixture converted to workshop versions. Light effects completely scrap now with sources.

Door snap points already done on cabin and warehouse in original version of game.

FO4Edit deep clean, been doing a lot more clean up in there as I learn the tool better, about 10 odd entries that needed updated.

V1.01 minor update, brick plaza to the SW entrance into FH was overlapping into previs to the south. LOD fix worked.

I was wondering if you can do a clean and restore mod for the national park visitors center? The place is a mess, so I never use it. You clean them up so well, I'd love to add yours to my collection. Thanks, Staci

What about making that adobe ship removable?

Im guessing auto-spell correct funked you up. The old sailing ship on the edge of the settlement is pretty far outside default build zone. This is already a very large buildable area.

Yess Far Harbor!! Will you do the Red Rocket at NukaWorld too?

Also are you going to do Vault 88? Because it can be a titanic task!!

Nuka RR will be a cakewalk, no structures to repair, biggest concern with possible previs breakages.

Vault 88, actually yes I will be doing it but not the entire thing. I will be focusing on spaces that the player has build access to that are just full of perm stuff...for example, radio room, security room, and the various alternative exits. If the previs/precombines don't play nice I could see being an issue, have to rebuild it to find out.

Does this mean your commonwealth DP series is done? So special and interior settlements like Boston Airport and Mechanist Lair are skipped.

Mechanlist Lair is DLC, so no, its not skipped.

FH settlements are more robust so to me that makes them more of a priority.

      Boston Airport is very problematic:

      • Not a full settlement by default requires console command or mod to be full.
      • Tiny footprint, smaller than Outpost Zimonja and likely smaller than Hangman's Alley
      • Its mostly clear with some large concrete blocks and some flat brick piles to disable. I tried to work on it and those were the two object types that were blocking build options inside the build zone and they didn't even block it very much. There was literally nothing else to do unless the build zone is expanded. There were a handful of debris piles but those could be resolved with CMS.
      • It would have less done in it than Outpost Z or Tenpines, each of which had so little going on I just bundled them together.
      • The build zone of BA is split between 3 previs cells in a very congested area. So what does that mean you ask?
      • To give the settlement the same treatment I give all my settlements and make the PnP rebuilds it would require effectively full rebuilds of all 3 of those previs. Especially since there are unique structures nearby, story POIs and just lots of buildings. Buildings are the main thing that glitch when previs is not done correctly.
      • Any time you do PnP rebuilds you are rolling dice to see what breaks, if you get lucky nothing goes too wrong, but the closer the settlement is to built up areas the more likely things are to break. See Hangman's Alley bugs...
      • If when I am done with all the other settlements and I learn something new that would make it a more reasonable option, I might circle back and do BA but given all the factors at this time, every other settlement is a priority, yes even ML and Homeplate.

Glad to hear that. I don't think BA necessarily need to be included; I brought it up only bcuz it's the only exterior settlement not in your DP mod. I also found BA's previs affects quite large area, conflicts with rebuilt East City Downs' PnP for TFTC.
I haven't tried your HA yet, but I've been using some other mod cleaning HA with rebuilt PnP and never found any visual bug. Did you try it without PRP see if the bug persist?

Seriously good question! I had not tried it without PRP, it is entirely possible that is what is doing that. I cannot remember if the player reporting it used PRP or the older BostenFPS, but I think he might have been.

If you are not using PRP or Boston FPS, and want to load up a one off and test it that would be cool. I would have to make a new save state without PRP to test it. My current testbed save has PRP.

Tales from the commonwealth, good stuff, my favorite mod series outside of SimSettlements(1&2).

Yeah last thing I would want to do is mess with TFTC!
