Thank you for the mod. I have assigned them 2 kids beds from another mod I use the also excellent settlement markers by Kitcat81 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20651 that allows you to give children a schedule for using a school desk (You type it out and put it in the desk then assign the desk and the kids take over that schedule) Using that mod I can assign Betha and Tony to a school desk. The mod also has markers for kids to eat noodles and things like that. However as others have said they will unassign from workstations and sometimes (Not always) beds if I leave the settlement, and will revert to farming even though there are no untended crops. However - also using Kitcats mod there are some chairs under the furniture section that kids will use and I put two of them in the kids bedroom at Echo Lake. They will always use these chairs even overnight when they have unassigned from their beds, I always find them sitting in these chairs at night no matter if I have just warped in or forget to reassign them to their beds, so at least I know they won't be standing in a field overnight :) Hopefully still better than a sleeping bag on a cold wet dock.
Also, those using the Revised Hairstyles v2 flavor of Diverse Children probably do not need the Diverse Children version of this mod as neither Bertha nor Tony are changed by that flavor of Diverse Child at all. If you are using any mod that changes/conflicts with one of these awesome Recruit X mods, including regular Diverse Children or Player Comments, you are probably best getting the ESL version then renaming filename.esl to filename.esp. That will convert it to an ESPFE that will not take up a plugin slot but will let you set the load order to win any conflicts (pure ESLs cannot be so ordered). You still want the ESL version of the merged BA2.
I'm not sure right now but I think Diverse Children is an ESP. If it is, then the patch won't work after ESLifying it because ESLs are loaded before ESPs and Diverse Children must be loaded first.
Confirm that the two kids work as farmers OK, buy just stand around at night...even after assigning them to (vanilla) beds.
This mod works: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/35409 I used the older file "Children's Beds", not the newer main "Orphan's Beds" file, as it requires the "Orphan's of the Commonwealth - More Children" mod, and I didn't want to add something I wouldn't really use. Both Bertha and Tony sleep soundly at Echo Lake in children-sized beds.
EDIT: Scratch that. Every time I fast travel away from Echo Lake - both of them are unassigned from their crops and beds. Although their crops are automatically reassigned once I arrive, their beds are not...and I need to manually reassign them every time I'm there. Otherwise, I end up with a pair of short scarecrows standing in the cornfields all night in the rain.
Unfortunately child settlers were never meant to be assignable and recruitable by the player so sometimes they loose their assigned resources.. I'll look into this issue. In the meantime, I have made a Settler Sleep AI Fixes mod that works with any kind of settler NPCs to overcome many sleep AI related limitations that come from the game's original design, especially the "standing at one place if not assigned to a bed" issue.
She and Tony move fine and I can even assign them to work if I want to... one thing thought is while I can assign them to beds they will not sleep in them. They just stand around the spawn point while everyone else is asleep in bed.
Actually I had a mod with child-sized beds to begin with, I also use your recruit Clinton and Charlie mod, and Charlie never had a problem with the child-size beds in it.
So then I replaced the mod I had with the child-size beds for another one with them. Now, Bertha's brother Tony finally goes to bed, but she's still as rambunctious as a toddler... ;-)
I like your Settler Debugger mod - is likely the best settlement mod out there if you ask me, is a must.
Hmm, so I figured something out. When I move people around in the labor pool (i.e. change a settler's job - especially when replacing a previous settler in that job) the game seems to reassign beds also.
i.e. Set a farmer to a guard-post already assigned to a guard who's managing two guard-posts. What happens is the once farmer now also takes over the bed that guard originally had too - and the guard left unassigned one. Then what happens come night seems to attempt to reassign people without a bed (the guard for instance) but instead kind of just arbitrary reassigns everyone in a row.
I tend to build ahead of need. iow, create a object before a settler even exist for it, generally have more beds than population for instance.
So then to fix this... I went through every single npc (twenty-three of them) at Echo Lake assigning them beds individually.
Thanks for the feedback. In the vanilla game, when you assign a settler to a new job, the system unassigns them from their bed. In some cases, settlers may get auto-assigned to jobs but not to beds. However, settlers' "night time AI" still tells them to find and sleep on nearby beds regardless of assignment state. If the settler is assigned to a bed, that bed will be prioritized so the settler will sleep on it.
My experience is this: I can assign them to their beds, I did it on 3 separate occasions and even saw them sleeping (I used vanilla dirty mattresses). I also assigned Bertha to do farming. But every time I return to the settlement after being away, they don't have any beds or assignments and stand still next to the workshop. It appears they reset for some reason when we leave the area.
Depends, She is a vote in the player's behalf - after you complete "Turn Back The Fog" - in the quest "The Way Life Should Be" should you use the persuasion attempt to spare Arcadia if you had informed the people in Far Harbor that Avery is a synth. I think that may be the reason they kept her there in Far Harbor to begin with, I for one never took that path in the questline though so I'm not sure how that would pan out?
Sandra Lee will always speak, agreeing with her brother to destroy Acadia.
The Mariner may speak on behalf of the player character for completing the various Hull Breach quests. If Machete Mike was murdered by the Sole Survivor, the Mariner will voice her suspicions.
Mitch will speak in favor of the player character after completing The Hold Out. Otherwise he may remain silent or speak in favor of Allen, depending on whether or not other citizens speak up.
Andre Michaud will speak in favor of the player character if he was cured by them.
Actually for me I could recruit them right after I came back to the mill. The pop up to send them to a settlement came up. But she did return to tell Allen what type of tool he is at the end of the quest line.
See I’m loving this. I’m also playing Sim Settlements II and I don’t want a bunch of generic nobodies filling my building. So she and her brother are here by recruited to HQ! As well as numerous other NPCs that you’ve allowed us to recruit for settlements. Mechanist, k198, Darla etc etc
Thank you! Works perfectly. It bugged me that the person asking you to clear Echo Lake for settlement never bothered to show up. I tried assigning her to run a shop and for Tony to scavenge, but they only hold their assignments for a day, then they just become freeloaders in the community. The settlement is super successful, so I don't worry about it.
Thanks! That's what I thought, just wanted to be sure... Good wishes for your ISP, and let us know when it gets rolled into the AO .BA2 so I can fiddle with the load order & what not.

I've just installed that one.

This mods' .BA2 is *NOT* included in your All-In-One recruitment BA2 mod, correct?

Also: Love your work!
