i really like the idea but I think you might have gone overboard, I feel like most triggermen should speak Italian but some should also speak English. same with the other factions, like I don't think everyone in the bos would speak Spanish. maybe just higher ranks like knight captains and paladins and probably scribes. but other than those few things its really good.
Delete any voice folders you want to remove. Most folders are named after the character they modify. I only used the generic voice folders (maleeventoned, maleboston, femaleeventoned, malechild) to alter a few, mostly generic, NPCs in the Railroad and the Institute, as well as maleghoulcombatant for Ghoul Triggermen and Goodneighbor guards. The Brotherhood have their own generic folders, which you can delete too to revert changes to their generic NPCs.
Use the same tool as before to repack the folders into a new BA2 archive - it's important that it ends with " - Voices_en.ba2", without the quotes.
this makes me wonder, is it not possible to have both? generic npcs in vanilla will choose one from a (small, usually 2 voice types for males) pool of voices at random. it should, in theory, be possible to add basically every language as an additional voice type that can be used by generic npcs.
Oversight on my part. I never played through Far Harbor. It's easy to do it yourself on your game, though, I gave instructions on how I did it in a few comments on this thread.
You can make it on your own by following these steps:
Change your FO4 language on Steam to Italian;
Use a Bethesda archive tool (such as Cathedral Asset Optimizer) to extract the archive called Voices.ba2;
Find the folders labeled as Paladin Danse's voicelines (I don't remember what it's called exactly, but should be pretty obvious) within the archive. Keep in mind there might be some lines in the DLC folders;
Copy these folders into a new folder with the same structure ([Your folder]>Sound>Voice>Fallout4.esm>[copy the vanilla game folders here]). Remember to create the appropriate subfolders for DLC lines;
Use the same archive tool to repack your new folder into a .ba2 archive. Name the archive "[Your folder] - Voices_en.ba2";
Finally, install the archive and accompanying .esp to your game as a regular mod. Remember to change back your FO4 language, if you wish.
hello, can u make a russian for railroad ?dont mistake i just wanna find a patch for ww2 commies raildroad overhual ,if u think it's offened i will delete this
?THIS SHOULD BE AN OBLIGATORY MOD IN EVERY GAME WHERE CROSS COUNTRY TRAVEL EXISTS IN THE GAME WORLD ?
Recently, they made a similar mod for Cyberpunk and I cannot POSSIBLY EXPLAIN how gigantic of a difference in immersion I feel. It's literally a total 180. Nothing takes me out of a game more than EVERY SINGLE SENTIENT CREATURE WHO CAN SPEAK, speaking in EXACTLY THE SAME ACCENT AND LANGUAGE that the game's designers happened to mainly originate from. It is LUDICROUS!
Unless cross country travel is somehow impossible in the lore of the game world, which is itself ludicrous, since people have been exchanging language and culture across country lines since the Middle Ages, THIS SHOULD BE A MOD IN EVERY SINGLE GAME WHERE IT IS POSSIBLE AND MAKES SENSE!!
That being said, subtlety is king here, and using a light hand when making your mod + tons of variations available is really gonna be the difference for me here. THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS!! Checking it out now.
BTW--Adding on to this--even if you don't like Cyberpunk, try the language mod for that game, the Vortex installer for it is IMO the gold standard at the moment.
what if I only want curi to speak french? and the rest of the game is left untouched? I'm learning french and I want that constant exposure. but I'm not experienced enough to understand it without getting confused. Edit, more looking revealed that there is a mod for this. Curie's french vocie. it is from 2016 and the description is not great, but no bugs.
I have been hoping someone would make Captain Zao speak Chinese and the Norwegian Ghouls have English subtitles, with the idea being the Pip-Boy is translating to English text for you. Come to think of it Takahashi would need English subs with that idea. So what you've done but without actually changing the nationality of anyone.
Sadly, there's no Chinese dub for the game to get the files from - you'd need to record the lines yourself with an actor. Translating the Norwegian Ghouls and Takahashi's lines shouldn't be too hard though.

If you'd like to, it's not hard to edit the mod yourself to make those changes:
