They missed so much with this particular version of Fallout it's crazy.
In fact, instead of the settlements getting raided they should have had a transport system of moving things between settlements that gets raided.
It's only 200+ years post fallout - you'd think civilization would have started rebuilding.
You build water trucks - to ship water across the Commonwealth.
You build flatbed trucks - to ship wood, steel, aluminum and other construction materials with.
You build Beer/Soda trucks - to ship all that brew Buddy is cooking up.
    etc, etc.
Defending your settlements should be the easy part - defending the shipments?    Ohh boy, like Mad Max defending the tanker filled with sand.

And who rebuilt and maintains the roads? Where are the factories for the parts of everything you want? Where are the primary industries to make the raw materials that go into those parts? Working mines? Ships and rail? Etcetera, etcetera, ad nauseam.

I realise after a year you prob won't read this, I'm putting it here for others. And please don't think I'm singling you out - I know many think like you do and I've written similar responses elsewhere.

      Re: Postapocalyptia
If only I had a penny for every mistaken sentiment like yours I'd be rich man. Look, try to imagine every key spot and major area was hit by several megatons - each one certainly hundreds (and possibly a few thousand) times worse than Hiroshima - with no one to clean up afterwards! The Boston region should be a tortured crater. But even if you pretend (which you have to) that Boston itself missed the worst of it, most of the country and over half the world did not. And as the Fallout universe is atomic powered, not just every power station becomes a Chernobyl but every building generator and car engine will be leaking rads as they break down. Even today there are the boots of the cleanup-firemen in Chernobyl that are 4000 times above normal background radiation and despite the cleanup parts of the site will be dangerous for 24000 years (due to transuranium). But worse still any WW3 nuclear conflagration will likely wreck the ozone for at least decades and spark a nuclear winter lasting many years. Frankly, even FO3's world, let alone FO4's, is on the extremely overly optimistic side. Of course the devs had to do that in order to have a playable, enjoyable game, but they still imagine the world overall to be badly devastated as I describe, else it would have recovered in the 200 years since.

Re: FO4 setttlement content & mechanics
I've read a few times (and it's pretty clear anyway) the devs originally never envisioned the base-building to be much of a thing other than a) prettying up the player home a bit, and b) giving a sense of helping settlers and the minutemen just start to recover. And they certainly never envisioned the crazily unrealistic townships many settlemaniacs want to build because: see my postapocalyptia point. Of course, because it was popularly received (I've no idea why, too minecrafty or sims-like for me), Beth cashed in with addons focusing on the workshop side of things, but didn't - and probably couldn't/shouldn't do half of what you'd want because it would require the world devastation to have mostly not happened, and in the intervening centuries society would have already done lots of the stuff you want to do and thus there'd be no need for you to do it.

The truck is quite large, so there may be difficulties with placement.
I advise you to use the mod Place Everywhere.
It will be useful to you more than once.

      Mira la pestaña "requisitos", amigo.
Los recursos de la mod (texturas, mallas, etc) se deben descargar desde la página original de la mod.

I thought a modders resource meant you didn't need to make the original upload a requirement.

Also if you're looking for a use for that authors NV train, trains can be hooked up as generators.

running modern trains actually are generators, when the front of the train (engines) brakes are applied one of the systems is called 'Dynamic Braking' .. and a Magnetic force is used to slow the wheels which CREATES electricity..
( i forget where it goes though )

I love the Genius of this Water truck idea because pretending Mutants,,, DiMA, Synths are real... when you have to make Water so meticulous to hook up and takes up so much build... the immersion line isn't really in the middle anymore

Cool, I really liked that tanker truck from Fallout 1. I always thought that with the dented windshield it had sort of an "angry" expression
