"By the rays of Ra! It is I -- the Mistress of Mystery!"

We all love the Silver Shroud quests, but what about his companion -- his "old love," if you will -- the Mistress of Mystery? Well now, she -- or he! -- can tag along for the ride and assist the Shroud protecting the streets of Boston!

About

I did take some artistic licenses, here. The Mistress of Mystery has never appeared wearing a mask in the official artwork, nor did The Shadow's companion, Margot Lane, that The Shroud is based on, but I felt it fit the classic detective hero duo, e.g. The Green Hornet, The Phantom, Batman and Robin and others, I felt the mask added to the look, particular since most of the dialogue scenes only show a medium shot, at best.

Feel free to equip the Mistress or Master with any of the Chinese swords. I suggest General Chao's Sword which gives 50% damage to robots, to complete the look (no weapons included in this mod).

Silver Shroud Female Modifications

  • The female vanilla Silver Shroud's costume has been modified.
  • Mesh-swapped the Silver Shroud's fedora with a black beret.
  • Gave her net stockings and Mary Jane heels.

This affects the official quest item you acquire from the mission given to you by Kent. This was my preference for the female Sole Survivor's Silver Shroud, however, the hat can be swapped out for any other you choose in the game and it will not affect dialogue or scenes. The hat switches back to the fedora if a male character wears the Shroud's costume.

Gameplay, Load Order, Location, Crafting, Conflicts, etc.

  • Both costumes for male and female are gender-neutral. You can have a Mr. Mistress of Mystery or a Ms. Master of Mystery if you want!
  • Load order should not matter as there are no conflicts with vanilla gameplay.
  • These are standalone outfits and should not affect textures of Darla's dress in Valentine's quest or any of the vanilla suits in the game.
  • I've added the suit to the gameplay in as lore-friendly a way as I could. There's a short note where you find it.
  • If you've already found Shroud's coat and hat, or even finished the quest, the dress and suit should still appear. Simply head back "wherever Hubris Comics are sold" and retrieve it.
  • If you can't be bothered with finding it, you can craft it at a Chemistry Station under Utility.

Body Types, CBBE, Enhanced Vanilla Bodies, Super Hero Bodies, etc.

  • The dress and suit are based on the vanilla mesh for each. It works with the vanilla bodies and Enhanced Vanilla Bodies.
  •  I will not be making a CBBE or any other versions! Feel free to convert it yourself to CBBE, SHB, Atomic Blah Blah, and whatever other freaky body mod you have and post it. Just be sure you credit back to this mod.
  • Likewise, any other modifications you want to make to the costumes, such as removing the mask, adding gloves, etc., feel free to DIY and post, so long as you credit me. I will not be posting any other versions beyond bug fixes, if there are any.

Images & Credits

  • Thank you to Owlapin's for allowing me to use the mod Katana's Mask as a base for the mask.
  • Thank you to MaGlas for allowing me to use the three-piece male suit texture as a base from the lovely Retro Fashion Overhaul mod!
  • Thank you Bethesda, for the awesome character design, the Creation Kit, and of course Fallout.
  • All new textures were created by me.
  • All screen shots I uploaded for this mod were my own poses, character modifications, photo manipulations, titles, etc.
  • I used the Creation Club mods "Neon Flats" and "Shroud Mansion" as backdrops for the images.
  • I used Outfit Studio, Photoshop 2021/2022, and Nifskope to make this mod.

Feel free to post your own images! I have turned on author approval so it may take a bit to appear, but otherwise, post away! I'd appreciate a endorsement if you get around to it! Feel free to leave a comment or review.
