One of the alien raid quests attacked Diamond City and I thought it was funny that one of the aliens was using an M1918A2 BAR that it took off a dead security guy
If it makes you feel better, he works for Bethesda through a smaller studio called Double Eleven (11), making content for the superior Fallout game, Fallout 76. He's responsible for creating some pretty good in game stuff too there.
You have to try to get all the fixes here, like one of the major mod that does the Radiated South... ... then we can finally add into the game one shot using ONE slot.
I have been eyeing this Project Zeta, but like Point Lookout... ... HIGHLY unsafe to download and add, and Point Lookout seems dead... ... with so many bugs still left around to scare me off... ...
So many major quest mods already, a major mod like yours and Point Lookout can easily destroy the save, despite mods can be of a new cell or something.
The writing on the saves and corruptions from bugs to saves and even main game file is pretty scary... ...
I was quite disappointed with this mod. The weapons don't have modifications and lack proper ADS, aside from the Pulverizer. But even for that one, the holo-sight is so bright that you can't really use it as a proper sight, which defeats its purpose. The invasions are neat, but mod's creator didn't think through the Diamond City invasion, which basically breaks the game by killing named characters. Also, the quests are buggy and don't reset at times. The worst part though, is that the mod's creator retired after releasing this unfinished mod, which means that it's pretty much guaranteed that there won't be any official fixes for the issues above. Pretty irresponsible behavior IMO. Yeah, third-party fixes do exist, but this mod's author shouldn't have released the mod in such a broken state just to leave it like that with no fixes in sight afterwards. Quite unfortunate, as I was looking forward to Zetan stuff in Fallout 4.
I've sympathy for some fellow gamers' opinions, for too often modders seem to think gamers should simply be grateful for anything free whilst gamers can be understandibly frustrated by losing days or entire playthrus from a bad mod. And some modders who pump out quantity over quality and/or don't playtest nor alert where such mods are a beta etc are being irresponsible...
However, please remember some mods can take not days but weeks, months or years dedicating every free hour in between work or family duties. For we aren't all kids. And modders can be forced to unexpectedly stop/retire due to job, family or health. I made mods in the late 90s & early 00s when I was already nearing 40, but becoming a carer took over (and now so has my big battle with cancer).
And compared to 20yrs ago games today are bigger, more complex & buggier - and thus so can seem the mods. Grilled is part of a team and prob wanted to get something out knowing others could use it. And that decision at least means, like you say, that "Yeah, third-party fixes do exist.."Exactly! - such as which (a year before you posted) already tackle the invasion issues you gripe about! For example (for any others reading this), take a look at Project Zeta Fixes, and this year's Project Zeta Expanded. Prob other mods too.
I didn't get a chance to pick up the key to get to Mars and now I'm permanently locked out of the Mars settlement! Any way to get the key if I didn't get it the first time around? If now, what is the ID so I can cheat it in using the console?
