Like you said, it's personal preference. And I don't think he knew what this mod does, to your point.
The mods he posted are changing the vanilla lockpicking experience, but they don't add alternative options like Locky Bastard does, like shooting/kicking/exploding.

This mods intention is to do the OPPOSITE. It restores gating to vanilla like mechanics, which locky bastard removes.
That way you can have locky bastards alternative options and the vanilla style lockpicking.
i personally install the other mod as i consider it better too, but it's personal preference anyway
