Go to your chem station - build 2 TelePads (automatically linked to each other and named XYZ-1 and XYZ-2) - drop one on the ground somewhere - go anywhere on the map - drop the second one on the ground
If you step on one, you automatically find yourself on the second one... and vice versa of course :)
(no "E" to activate thingy so that NPCs automatically use it too...)
V 2.0, same thing but with a conveyor belt instead of a pad: TeleBelt to be used in all your modern beltless factories :)))
Leah, when can we expect that ? Sometime next week maybe ? :))))
I recall some very similar contraptions in Second Life. You'd place one pad Here, go over There and place the second one, then link them. Tiny scripts, even if you wanted a particle effect. Only worked within a given sim - cell in Fo4 - but flawless, instant transport.
Another method in SL was even simpler; the pads would not actually be linked, but move you to a given xyz coordinate within the sim. Required a bit of mapreading to set up, but only took a few lines to script and was utterly lagless.
I love the concept and how they're set up for building with the various types etc, but the transition using the black load screen is kind of awful... I was hoping for an instant teleportation animation instead of a load screen, more like blink grenades or taking the Institute teleport. I'll take riding a traditional elevator (or climbing a ladder) over the load screen effect, unfortunately it's just too slow for my setup. This method makes my game reload the entire area I'm in, rather than instantaneous travel between two local points. I'm still stuck on a HDD rather than SSD so I end up sitting there waiting for it to load as if I changed zones. Immersive Teleporters is what I currently use for my larger settlements, as you can place numerous teleport stations in a single settlement allowing for 'local' ports with no load time. They also perform the teleport/animations for your companions which is a nice touch.
I've no problem getting a 20 floor televator. I build an 8, take it up, build another 8, take it up, build a four. I use a free form to fly down to the bottom, delete the bottom 8, install a programmable 10, get back into the program and set the televator for 20 floors. I go up perfectly, however, there is no return televator to get back onto the ground.
I could not find it. I looked at Power -> Miscellaneous but it was not there. I am playing Fallout 4 VR perhaps there are some compatibility issues with the VR version of the game.
I couldn't find this mentioned already (unless I just missed it), but have a tiny weird thing happening with it:
If I build the lower floor of the televator on the second floor or higher - when I come back down, my character appears on the ground, below any intended "landing floor". Hope that explanation makes sense.

Now the next step, the TelePad...
Go to your chem station
- build 2 TelePads (automatically linked to each other and named XYZ-1 and XYZ-2)
- drop one on the ground somewhere
- go anywhere on the map
- drop the second one on the ground
If you step on one, you automatically find yourself on the second one... and vice versa of course :)

Got my vote.

Help.
