A 4k resolution night skies replacer and an insane 8k star map to try out. Comes with alternate galaxy textures for the Visible Galaxy framework
mod in 4k & 8k. These are all exported textures I stitched together from Space Engine PRO for some realistic renditions of these cosmic bodies.
Key details:
-Galaxy capture from the same point in Boston. Not accurate to how it actually looks due to how the framework displays the texture.
-Custom moon phases in 4k
-Star wavelength colors
-8k stars and galaxy
How and why in 8k?
I put literally 4 blocks of 4k exported star textures together. The galaxy is an ultra wide 12, 288px length shot put together and
then cut out to fit in 8k width. The moon shall remain in 4k. Want to see the night sky in true 8k now? This is it. I really like the original galaxy with the native stars. I wanted to create an alternative without the stars in it.
Do you notice a difference from 4k to 8k?
I do, the stars in 8k seem to twinkle more and better galaxy detail when scoped in.
Compatibility:
Not compatible with any texture replacer for Moon, Stars and the Galaxy (unless you splice the two textures together).
To Install:
Place Textures folder in root data folder of Fallout 4.
These textures are open source and free to use. I hope you enjoy at least one alternative to the wonderful Galaxy framework mod. I will try to work on more vibrant and a Sci-Fi ones.
