    is it expected that the MSat will work or are we still gonna hafta walk through the doors?  I ask 'cause i have installed and am enjoying the working workbench... got Jezebel rolling around sanctuary with her new bod.  but although it seemed like installing the MSat on Aida worked, i'm still getting the good ol' "a robot could use that" line in the mechanist's lair and Aida does nothing to open the door.

      i probably should have added that i did make a new robot mod chip and gave it to Aida... and tested that out by making a number of modifications to her body.  the body changes took effect no prob indicating that she was the bot being modified.  but ... no MSat maybe?

      There is a old issue with Aida in the original Fallout 4 game (pancake) I have had this happen to - basically if you mod Aida at all it nullifies the M-Stat. I am assuming that this bug was fixed in later patches in the original fallout 4 since I haven't heard of people complaining about it as much present day but when it first launched with Automatron I personally had this happen and a number of people were talking about it (again in non-VR). The fix is to roll back the save before you edited Aida install the Mstat dont edit anything and use her on the door - after you use her on the doors you can edit her to your hearts content. That was the fix like 5 years ago so Im willing to bet this is a vanilla bug not fixed and still present. Since I had to rebuild the workbench - Im willing to bet the backend issue is that the mod slot on the bot is being replaced by something you are building when you mod Aida thus removing the MStat. In any case its enough of a job to get the workbench working I cant also take on fixing what is broken by vanilla so I would do what I did years ago in pancake for the solution it wasnt too bad.

      Otherwise you have to tcl through doors. I would roll back personally though and then use the mod on nexus that lets you close and open the doors yourself. after Aida initially opens them.

      Vanilla bugs need to be solved by mods that make bug fixes not by my mod since thats out of scope. Another issue for example is the Nuka world blasters. Basically I implemented them perfectly but in VR they cause a CTD so a fix on nexus exists that makes them not CTD the game in VR but makes them do no animations or damage. So if you installed them on a bot they will install with my mod but they wont do damage. My hope is some day someone will fix this vanilla bug for VR and then my mod will work as intended since as far as my mod is concerned I did my part.

    The Mr. Handy arms are missing in the menues....

    i tried to get this mod to work (wich i eventually did) but then after removing Codsworth arms i was not able to put it back onto him :(

      I would try to reset the station and ensure he has a modfication chip on him. I showcase in the video you can remove and re-add Handy arms.

    Are there plans to make a version to work with the newest versions of the DLC? I'm unable to downgrade the DLC files.

      its a physical impossibility - you will have to downgrade. you are able but you will have to google foo it. A comment below states you just need to google for it. it only takes a second. Best of luck!

    if anyone has issue with the robot workbench not bringing up the terminal interface but going through a long sequence of tutorial messageboxes and crashing on an A-press check how you've obtained the robot workbench.
    Spawned in robotics workbenches are treated as a completely diff unmodified version of themselves with this mod, and i believe i had this problem with mods that unlock the workbench early as well.
    By all means absolutely test if your early robotics workbench mods work with this before starting a real save game.  As compared to getting the schematics the vanilla way at lv 15.

    I'm completely stuck, here.  How do I even install the first radar beacon onto ADA?  I can't modify her whatsoever in the robot workbench, so the DLC quest is effectively broken.  

    *edit: upon trying to create a new robot, it's saying I don't have all the ingredients.  I have literally everything, in raw ingredient form.

      watch the video agin maybe then mate. You need the raw ingredients on your person. Not in the bench. I detail this.

    Thank you for making this Automatron fix, but it's not working for me personally - I get instan CTD when I have this mod activated, and Im sure its this mod thats causing the CTD
    It seems like that this is working well for everyone else, but somehow its just not working for me. Does anyone have any solutions pls?

      I read some more comments here, am I supposed to have an older version of the Automatron DLC? Mine is pretty new, I have the newest version of Fallout 4 and copied the DLC from there

      The newest version of the Automatron DLC will straight CTD you game with or without my mod. It fully breaks in VR. You need the pre-update  version yea.

    actually incredible mod.
    i've barely played FO4 flat, but i assume the UI for this in vanilla was basically just another workbench?
    this rebuild adds so much flavor having the screen interface, really brings out a kind of mad scientist vibe. love it!

    question - does anyone know if this could/should/would support custom modded robot parts?
    trying to convert ADA to a servitron but the parts aren't showing on the terminal

      you would have to make a addon for this mod. I have all the scripts built into the mod ready to go and have open permissions for new addons that include new bot parts but it has to be made on a individual level.

    So working pretty well! Was able to make the mod chip, it was the components thing (had lots of trays in my inventory but needed to break them down to actual aluminum).

    Running into an odd thing though, I gave ADA a gatling left hand , but she won't use it. She'll just shoot with her laser right hand. I've tried giving her ammo but no luck. How can I get her to shoot with the added gun?

      Thats a vanilla fallout 4 bug that exists in pancake. I would leverage the years of convo about it to see what people say. Otherwise for me personally I just swap the bot to 1 melee 1 gun.

    I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if something is bugged. I've got this mod installed as part of Mad Gods classic overhaul. I'm doing the Automatron questline and when this mod is active the quest doesn't recognize that I've build the robot workbench, so it never proceeds to the part where I'm supposed to install the radio thingy in ada.

    I've also tried editing ada on the bench, and not having any luck. Looks like I need to create a mod chip... I've got all the components in my inventory, but the only option i get is to blueprint the mod chip, which displays an image but nothing else, I can't seem to actually make the chip.

    Anyone have any suggestions for either of these?

      Im not sure I dont recall any isssues like that - just use council commands to set the stage of the quest so it registers that you built the workbench

      I’m having the same problem now - I used console commands to setstage fitting Ada’s radar as I couldn’t build the mod chip, but now I’m stuck at the part of Jezebel‘s quest where I have to build a body for them. The “create” option on the robobench isn’t present. I have all the necessary components in my inventory and I’ve watched the explanation video a few times but I cannot see where I’m going wrong.

      Edit: okay, I figured it out - the problem was the robobench not seeing components when they were part of an object. What I had to do was drop the items near a workbench, go into settlement build mode, scrap the items I’d just dropped, exit build mode, then go into the transfer screen of the workbench to get the raw materials.

      These steps may seem obvious to other players but I could’ve really used that info in big, friendly letters on the mod page description - it would’ve saved me a lot of head scratching and frustration! 😅

      All I can see is “ First you must select "Create New Autoamtron" at this time the terminal build menu will function near identically to the vanilla workbench. You MUST have the build components on you not in the workbench however.”

      The problem I had was expecting things to work like other workbenches in the game - up to this point, all I needed were items in my inventory that contained the required components. I’ve never played flatscreen Fallout4 (I only purchased it recently for the DLC) so I don’t know if this is how Automatron worked there.

      My confusion arose from looking at my PipBoy and seeing the required components apparently listed and in the required numbers. As far as I could tell, I had the build components on me, not in the workbench - as per your mod description. It was not obvious to me that I would need to breakdown items for the required materials.

      This is what im talking about here. The build components are the raw components listed in the terminal - you made a assumption but thats not what I said but I get you but that was a assumption. I also in the video specifically call out that you need the actual components and talk through it and show multiple examples of building things using components.

      To your point ill agin try to update the description page... but what is obvious to you or me wont be to others thats why i made the video. No matter how I re-word it someone will be confused.

      Оно делает. Вам необходимо использовать более старую версию DLC Automatron. Обновленный DLC не работает с VR.

    For some reason I can not launch my game with this mod enabled even with a fresh install with all dlc and just this mod the game lauches then crashes before it gets to the main menu.

      I solved it myself, you must have the downgraded dlc files the next gen update updates the Automatron and the Contraptions workshop you need to have the non updated files or else it will cause issues

      that is correct yes - it is a issue with the updated DLC and not with this mod.
