This is a must-have mod. SS2 was maxxing out my storage capacity with the wrong resources, and when I built more storage that did nothing except create more room for the unneccesary resource, leaving no room for anything else. With this mod I fixed it in a snap. Honestly, I was about to stop playing if I hadn't stumbled across this. Thanks from 2024 to the mod author in 2021!
Is there I can do to safely remove this mod or completely disable everything that it does? I'm not 100% sure, but I think something is off about my production values because of it, after making a trade agreement to import something, I keep getting additional production per day over time. For example, I had a deficit of -80 antiseptic, so I imported +100/day, and now I'm getting +800 despite not having any rare materials production. Same with a couple other resources that I made trade agreements for, and I'm like 70% sure it started after installing this. Edit: nvm, I just replicated this bug without the mod, my bad.
You are using simple complexity, meaning everything is just counted as scrap. So there is no point in throwing out anything (thus no option to do so is given).
This mod is a gem. I love playing SS2 in survival, but eventually run into the issue of having no wood and my virtual storage being filled by every other component. I tried building conversion plots, built manufacturing to eat away at the other components, and expanded storage. This mod, in a beautifully simplistic way, solved my issues with virtual resource management. Thank you for sharing.
Oops, confused my mods! I was thinking of the settlement management terminal. This mod, although not obsolete entirely with SS2 version 3, is less necessary now than it used to be. In the update for my settlement management terminal, I have a new feature that will completely obsolete this mod though.
This really should be a part of SS2 by default, I was going nuts trying to fix my resource overflow for several days and this mod helped me fix it pretty much instantly, great job.
Category complexity means there are four categories of resources - building materials, organic materials, machine parts, rare materials. Each resource is in one of those categories and they are all treated equally (so wood and steel are both just building materials). Component complexity means every resource is tracked individually. There is also simple complexity, which means every resource is treated the same (just called "scrap")
I think the default setting is category. This is the setting KingGath plays on in his lets play series.
The terminal lets you change between those settings - however, you are better off just changing it using SS2 itself now using the holotape or MCM. KingGath has incorporated the code that changes complexity from this mod into his.
So quick question, is it possible to use this inside the "HQ" building?
I'm currently stuck due to being at the supply cap but not getting the resources I need to expand. I'll download it and try it, however, I have a feeling that this needs to make use of the "Furniture" section in SS2 in the build menu and that isnt present in the HQ
No, it needs to be used in a settlement. However, I believe the supply cap is the same as the storage cap on the settlement network, so you could just build it in a network and throw out the resources there (though I may be wrong on this).

No such option in the terminal

We'll just have to wait and see ...
i'm practically using most default settings of ss2, just don't want to waste time of managing the dumb mechanic of resource storage.
