    A Note on Weapon Patches

I won't be making patches for every weapon mod, nor will I be taking requests.

If you want to patch other weapon mods, I made an article describing how to do so using FO4Edit. It's really quick and easy to do.

Omega4D2 made a great video tutorial:

Anyone know how to fix missing gun sounds in VATS? I've noticed in VATS and bullet time there are no sounds for some guns, most noticeably the 10mm pistol and SMG. I'm going crazy trying to figure out why since this is the only sound mod I have installed.

Great mod, but the minigun sounds awful and choppy, like it's a short sound looping really badly and clipping horribly. I believe it's taking the short burst sound and looping it over itself really fast, rather than using the proper several second long sustained fire loop.

Edit: I have solved the issue, and am currently uploading a fix. The Minigun sounds amazing and terrifying now rather than being ear-shattering. This edit basically just points to the sustained fire sound instead of the single fire sound, making the single fire 'burst' sound not really a thing. I'm not exactly sure under what circumstances that sound ever played anyway, and I've noticed no difference at all in several hours of gameplay other than the sound actually sounding great and not being a single fire sound looped dozens of times a second into an eardrum shattering mess.
    Fix here.

I really enjoy this mod though I'd like to use the sounds from the FO4 Alice Grinder Minigun Fire Replacer mod in place of the minigun sounds from this mod. How would I be able to go about doing this?

I recommend watching the video in the sticky comment as it shows how to patch weapon mods for JSRS. Then you'd just apply the same logic but instead of assigning a sound file from JSRS to a modded weapon you'd go into JSRS mod via Fo4 edit and replace the JSRS minigun sound file with whatever one you want from the mod you linked. Alternatively fiddling with your load order so the replacer mod you linked overwrites JSRS's files MIGHT also work and would be much simpler but requires your load order to be setup specifically so Alice overwrites JSRS wheras doing it the first way means it should work regardless of load order and will help you get some experience with Fo4 edit if you're unfamilliar with it.

    This is the one.

This is the mod that has the greatest firearms sounds of all the firearm sounds mods, distant battles POP in the breeze even though you can't see the npcs because they're over a hill or behind a building. The other weapon sound mods I tried - you could SEE distant npcs shooting at each other but all was silent, no pops, no bangs. I heard dogmeat drop a squeaky fart then he looked at me and said Aroo? I agreed. Then I came here and found this.

I can no longer hear dogmeats squeaky farts over the sound of this meticulously crafted overhaul to firearms sounds, so thank you very much to all people involved in the creation of this excellent mod. Kudos and Endorsements.

Where in the load order should this go, above or below any weapon mods/patches?

Probably above if you want to keep the weapon sounds from the modded weapons.  If anything, you can try both and check for conflicts in FO4EDIT.

Yeah, same. I lowered its volume in xEdit but its still VERY loud. The minigun is probably the worst sounding out of this entire mod, and id like to find a better sound for it.

I might be a year late, but the minigun sounds are bugged, and play a single fire looped dozens of times per second rather than using the longer continuous fire sound loop. I've uploaded a fix here if you ever want to try the mod out again.

    Hello.
When I shoot water it makes water explosion sounds, I think it is because I'm using the surface penetration mod. I couldn't find in FO4Edit any entry that touch water. Which entry should I change for shots in water to sound normal?
    Thanks.

Edit: JSRS doesn't change these sounds, they sounded good so I thought it did. What I did In FO4Edit was go in fallout4.esm, Sound Descriptor, and copied the information from FXBulletImpactWater to FXExplosionImpactWater.

Exploding water is from the penetration mod because thats how the penetrating projectile is delivered, duh.
