In Fallout 76, all underarmours can receive lining upgrades, as opposed to only the Vault suit as in 4. However, rather than just add extra resistances, they also provide bonuses to various SPECIAL stats. There are various 'classes' of lining, each with their own focus. For example, Enclave linings boost Strength and Perception, while Brotherhood linings provide Strength and Endurance.
I thought this was a neat idea, and am interested in carrying it over into Fallout 4, but that's a larger project for another time. For the time being, I thought I would test the waters by adding a similar feature to Fallout 4's Vault suits, since they already have lining upgrades for me to tweak.
Here are the SPECIAL buffs that Vault suits now provide:
Treated lining: +1 Endurance, +1 Luck
Resistant lining: +1 Endurance, +1 Luck, +2 Intelligence
Protective lining: +1 Endurance, +1 Luck, +2 Intelligence, +1 Strength
Shielded lining: +2 Endurance, +2 Luck, +2 Intelligence, +1 Strength
The linings also boost fire and cryo resistance, but as it stands now, that doesn't do anything. I'm just futureproofing for a larger mod I'm working on. Do let me know if you'd be interested in a mod that brings in more lining upgrades like this. I'm more than happy to work on that.
PS: I definitely recommend pairing this with Ballistic Weave Your Vault Suits by Niss for some nifty synergy. Also, if you don't completely despise the Creation Club, the Vault Suit Customization mod also works with this, and can help further augment your trusty Vault 111 suit.
