i dont think so.. could try though. I personally don’t use it in normal gameplay. i was working on a patch but ssd died that it was stored on never got to finish and update the mod for a patch
renameing the 10mm to 10mm Auto would make the more since considering it is clearly based on the real 10mm Auto round https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/10mm_Auto
10mm in the game is hardly 10mm auto which has similar ballistics to .41 Magnum... Game 10mm is more like .40 S&W, a little hotter than 9x19 but not even close to a death claw stopper.
For somehow the mod is causing this issue for me while using with Toounx's Ammo UI mod which is the ammo caliber is not displaying properly. Can you address this problem? Thanks Here is the image : https://imgur.com/a/4f9J9JL
EDIT : the vanilla calibers is working normally but the custom calibers added by CaliberComplex is not displayed Is there a compatibility patch for CaliberComplex?
1) 5mm is not based on 5.7mm, 5mm Remington or any of the other common suggestions, considering it's use in the Paratrooper/Assault Carbine, it is likely based on a multitude of 'necked-down' 5.56/.223 derivatives, such as .20 Tactical that were supposed to allow for higher velocity rounds.
2) .38 is almost definitely supposed to be .380 as it bears no resemblance to .38 Special, it is rimless and no-where near long enough.
Just a thought to add, Whilst i understand to urge to rename the 5mm as 7.62x51mm, because... it's used in the 'minigun' and well, that's what real 'miniguns' use, right? Yes, yes it is, but here lies the problem, the Minigun in Fallout is not a 'minigun', not by modern parlance anyhow. the term 'minigun' refers to a modern electrical Gatling gun in a rifle caliber (Most often it refers specificaly to the M134 'Minigun') but the 5mm cartridge isn't a rifle caliber, it is an intermediate caliber. To my understanding there was only ever one serious attempt at designing a 'Intermediate caliber' Gatling gun, the XM214 'Microgun' a 13kg, 6-barreled 'man-portable' Gatling gun.
5mm isn't even close to a .308. Actually it's a 5mm Remington rimfire magnum. So 5mm Magnum would be more fitting. Always thought it was funny they used a rimfire (which is easily defeated by armor) in a minigun gun. LOL
I've adopted the idea that the 5mm round was a custom cartridge made by Rockwell specifically for their miniguns, with a bulky case for a large powder load, but a small round for higher velocity and better armor penetration. I think of it as an intermediate rifle-scale version of the FN 5.7x28mm pistol/submachine gun cartridge.
On that note, I'd say that the .38 round is closer to the .380 ACP than a .38 Special. .380 ACP was designed for semi-automatics, but the .38 Special was for revolvers. That isn't to say that you can't make a magazine for the .38 Special, just that it isn't that common. Given the dearth of .38 revolvers in the game (Pipe revolver rechambering being the only one), it's more likely that the .38 round is the .380 ACP. The .308 used by the vanilla hunting rifle is the .308 Winchester, which, while similar to the 7.62x51 NATO cartridge, has a higher chamber pressure, and would not be safe to fire from guns designed for the NATO round.
It could be an intermediate small rifle round, slightly smaller than a 22, but moving a good bit faster. But still far from the size of a 308. 5mm verses 7.82mm. I do like the 5mm Rockwell designation! Has a nice ring to it.
All this ammo talk reminded me I still have 5k pieces of 7.62 brass to process. They neglected to tell me it was fired out of a worn the hell out machine gun. At least it's clean. LOL
I renamed the vanilla 5mm to 5mm Rockwell after I installed Skibadaa's Miniguns Rebirth?, because having three different ammo types for use in miniguns was just a little annoying. You wind up with 5mm (vanilla), 5mmR (Rifle, from the mod), and 5.56. I basically made the vanilla minigun do slightly less damage than either the 5mm Rifle or 5.56mm variants, but have a much higher rate of fire and less controllable recoil pattern. The Personal Minigun and Avenger Miniguns are then accurate, low-capacity options, but the vanilla minigun chews through enemies and ammo faster.
thanks ill get around to fixing this, i dont really use the minigun so really didnt take my time to research what a 5mm would be, i just googled minigun caliber

"10x25" instead of 10mm
".308 Win" instead of 308
and 5mm not changed?

it just seems odd that a metric round would follow the american naming insanity.
maybe i'm the only one.
