Guys Please, don't ask for a delay or a button for lowering weapons, not possible yet. I'll do it ASAP with the Creation Kit Release

What's blocking you from adding delays, etc.? I'm just curious, although I have little experience when it comes to editing files beyond simple value/boolean changes, so it may just all go over my head, lol.

Cant you make it that holster weapon activate lower weapon animation? Just curious. Could've dealt with two problems at the same time. One should unequip his weapon to be unarmed, not just teleport it in sub-dimension.

Why wouldn't it be possible? Fallout 4, without this mod, actually has a delay, a long one at that but still noticeable, between the weapon being held up and the weapon being lowered.

Have to second that man, I don't get why there is a perfectly fine timer before the mod, and then none afterwards, obviously some line of code was changed?

Unless you're talking about moving into a wall and back repeatedly, I've yet to see a delay.

The delay you're talking about happens because it would use up more resources to increase the rate at which the game detects the player being too close to a wall. Resources that could be used for better things like rendering more of the world ahead.

no there really is a delay. your weapon does lower in first and third person, but sprinting and crouching seem to reset it.

Take your time. Another option you could look into is having weapons lowered only when not in combat. I do like the keybind idea though. Look forward to G.E.C.K. later next year.

I love the idea, but will not take yet.
The best thing to do would be to make weapon lower only off combat, not a key, not a timer, just off combat.
As soon as you get someone near and the "Danger" status weapon gets ready.

That's what would be the best from my point f view.

      Exactly :D
I just figured that lesma placed animations from cover mechanic into regular idle weapon-on-ready. And I thought, maybe one can place those instead of sheathed animations (I cant be botherd cuz Im too lazy piece of fucktard to do stuff). Not like there is great chance that he didnt tried that, but what if? I miss obvious stuff all the time in attempts to do, like, anything.

im guessing this person moved on from the game now?

Anyways it would be alot better if there was an optional download so when you crouch this animation does not take place. If you want to go into combat-mode just go into a crouch position and move about.

i think it would work best if your weapon was contantly lowered when your not in combat, and obviously when you are it stays raised... maybe a delay of 5 seconds when not in combat if you fire/swing your weapon, but obviously only if that is doable through the creation kit. but im not expert, just a idea for it to work smoothly

      PUBLIC NOTICE
Because the original creator of Lowered Weapons (lesma666) seems to have abandoned the Fallout 4 modding world, a DLC patch was made by a different author (allexbulluk). So if you are playing with DLCs installed you will need to have both mods for best results, as shown below:

      Main file:
      Lowered Weapons by lesma666
      http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/522/?

      DLC patch:
Lowered Weapons - DLC Addon by alexbull_uk
      http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13842/?

      OPTIONAL: (player lowers weapon sooner)
      Timing patch:
Lowered Weapons - Quicker Relax Timer
      http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24307/?

      OPTIONAL: (other weapons)
If you use weapons created by other mod authors (such as, DeadPool2099's Hunting Shotgun, or giggity12345's Wastelander XM2076) , then they will require their own individual patch. Check out the patches made by sargeschultz11 at:

In theory, you'll get changes whenever you learn to do it yourself and share with the class :). Or so it used to be with mods. Looks like the author is stingy with permissions. Maybe send them a note if it's terribly important to you. They do list modification as "OK-ish".

To anyone crying "entitled!" - the landscape has changed. The Nexus caved to the "modding as employment" culture that Patreon has been irresponsibly enabling. The way it works now is that many mod authors will go as far as sending DMCAs if you try to tweak their content without asking. It's not 1995 anymore.

Most people won't bother to tweak a mod if it's only for their own benefit. Of those who do try to tweak a mod, most aren't smart enough to know how to release their changes in a way that it can't be traced or scrubbed off the web. Ordinary people who just want to be anonymously helpful used to look after tweaking mods to individual tastes, but now such people face scare letters. The result is a glut of unmaintained mods that represent a ton of make-busy re-work.

And to make matters worse, a majority of players have bought into the idea of supporting creators wholesale without realizing how they're only helping to push the MTX economy into absurd territory. My post is more likely to draw the attention of an anti-competent person, hence why I don't bother putting this sort of thing on the main forums.

This was never a problem in the 90s-2000s. If a modder or website developed a disproportionate ego problem, their work was forked and they were simply ignored. Believe it or not, life went on just fine for everyone, and game communities benefited greatly. For evidence, look at what happened with VTMB. The game wound up with two excellent mega patches because two authors got into a bunch of petty arguments but had no legal tools available to shut each other down. Today, one of them would've fired a DMCA shot, and the end result would've been NO complete mod for VTMB. I fail to see how the landscape has gotten any better, because it's not like paying people does anything to stop arguments from developing...

So if you want a mod changed, your best option today is to start by bugging the mod author until they reply and give permission. Or you can go rogue and prepare yourself to deal with a pile of hassles. This is why people freak out now and screech "CHANGE THIS FOR ME!!@!". 10 years ago these people would've been mod authors themselves. Today, they don't see a reason to waste time and risk getting in trouble all for the sake of changing a few bytes.

For anyone that actually made it this far... if you're fired up about this issue, all you can reasonably do is try to get your state government to block payments to Patreon at a bank level (which will never happen :)). Or, you can raise awareness about the history and intent of modding in the hopes that sensible creators will clue in over time. There's still quite a few people out there who haven't forgotten their ethics and continue to release mods under a BSD-like license, so all hope is not yet lost :).

I am absolutely agreed, i downloaded this mod on all this hype and all of a sudden i am realizing it's awfully uncomfortable to be in a combat since all your weapon is lowered during EXTREME situations. I hated to unistall it but sincerely... I don't see another way.

No, I just installed Automatically Lowered Weapons in Next-Gen and it works fine. And it does not require F4SE. It's stand-alone, no scripts. I did NOT add the flashlight patch because that DOES require a framework that uses F4SE.
