In actuality a ship of this size would need to consume a lot of rocket fuel (nothing from this time period) it would need an alternative energy source (like star energy or something) Also this would need to be built from the ground up.
The amount of rust here would subject eveybody to lockjaw, even the air might be polluted with rust. Lol
Fusion Cores and Fusion Cells are pretty much based on the idea of working cold fusion technology as it was envisioned in the 1980s and early '90s.
Amusingly there is even an easter egg in some of the Institute's terminals/holotapes refering to cold fusion as nonsense which mirrors the real world stance of today's M.I.T. about this topic.
As an IT, though I still don't know much about cold fusion, it does sound kinda ridiculous seeming. It might be too expensive? Not sure. The best bet for us to have an ungodly amount of energy, is to strive to fully utilize solar energy, and by designing a tech that can bypass sky blockages (such as clouds). I write about this in the hard scifi book I wrote, actually. This tech being achieved in real life here in accordance to the 21st century's standards would be faced with too many political parties holding the birth of this kind of technolgy back...But that's a story for another time Techs always say how its too hard to do, and how solar energy is limited., but I think it's possible. The sun and stars have enough energy to make gas obsolete, if you can convert it into energy you can use to fuel devices.
I think it can be done, it just takes A LOT of education investing, tech research, actual study breakthroughs, and so on.
Lol, in fact, I always kinda lol at looking at the abhorrently dated Fallout universe tech. The only things that aren't past legacy, would be the power armor. That, and the laser weaponry, and their robots. Nuclear power for cars is insane but then again, that's the point of the parody
Looks fantastic, well done! Have you ever considered rustifying more textures? There's a real lack of textures that rustify pretty much anything that could rust. I'd love to see more! You're clearly good at it.
That'd be really awesome! The most prominent mod that does so to the world in general is probably 50 Shades Of Rust, but there's some unfortunate performance issues with that mod as it doesn't only change textures, it also swaps materials and make changes to meshes which break precombines and subsequently previs. Your approach of just doing the textures for the rusty tub here should work for pretty much anything else without making additional changes that could affect performance.
This is perfect. As for the realism , yes the army would probably have it alot cleaner maybe the engines and reachable parts in flight for maintenance but the main body would be subject to fallout weather etc etc so realism doesnt apply here also it's a game lol. Anyway I love it and it fits my game perfectly. Thankyou
I came thinking it would be a tavern. LOL. I don't think any one from Bethesda has much or any military experience. Look at Gunner Plaza, A big filthy dumpster. Officers and NCOs love entertaining them selves by ordering privates and corporals to scrub such places by hand. I doubt an organization such as Gunners or BOS would do any different. I know the Army I was in would have things cleaned up spic and span, including Prywen. As for the Prydwen, using iron or steel would make it very very heavy. Also such a craft would be very maintenance heavy. Which would meaning setting it on the ground from time to time.
And exactly as you said Mason's Chapter is more Militarized, it would stand too assume that they would have a better Code of Ethics and Disipline. Trust me i understand i did 4 Yrs of JORTC ;) (joke) and logically 100+ Tons of Steel probably would've never taken off, but damn do i like them Concept art Bethesda had...Hard to Choose between "Ethical makes Sense Fallout" to "Older Lore Style Mods Fallout" >0< lol
I stand by my comment.. it´s a rusty tub.. and for those who think it was built in the air.. read up on Graf von Zeppelin and the building and maintenance of Air-ships.. oh, and rust tends to disappear when Privates, recruits and other low-lifes are ordered to clean the damn thing...otherwis most ships , armoured vehicles and whatnots would be useless pieces of metal...
thx for the idea man, I do agree on all parts tho this mod is more for the "lore modders" out there who prefer a more "Close to concept art" or older style Fallout feel :)
You´re more than welcome.. and I do admire your work..it´s just the idea of rust on any moving part or, indeed anything.. is appalling to an old NCO...
I like this mod very much, it fits my BoS as militarized scavengers overhaul almost perfectly.
Btw, just listen to all of Knight-Captain Cade's dialogue lines during the intro quest to the Prydwen and you will notice that hobo is pretty much a compliment for most BoS members.

Haha! Just one look at the PA textures tells you all you need to know. The BoS is all hobos.
Looks like good work to me.

Nice work!
