i just made this for my setup. there are mods making the surface clouds invisible. but for my taste this is too much change and i found no other options to change the surface clouds more subtle.
i tested and uploaded a few options to make your surface clouds lesser bright and white and more subtle/thinner. especially at night this may help to reduce surface clouds brightness. this mod does not affect the sky clouds.
it does not affect precombines/previs or performance of the game in any negative way.
the main version reduces the appearance of the surface clouds and makes them lesser white/bright (my favorite) including far harbor and nuka world dlc surface clouds (not the fog).
two options change cloud brigtness (more subtle) but not the density.
and i added a no clouds version on request. it is a simple lightweigt texture based solution with even a tiny positive impact on game performance due to minimized transparent texture use and it is fully compatible and does not change any meshes at all but works with absolutely the same effect.
i reommend to combine my mod with
1. setfog console setting (set distance and brightness of natural fog or even disable fog)
2. enb fog settings (manipulate also brightness, density and saturation of fog)
this is a pure texture replacer using the standard vanilla sky path. it will work with all mods using this standard path. put this mod at the end of all mods replacing sky textures.
it is compressed in bc7 format to offer high quality and low ram usage.
you can combine this mod wit my HD clouds bc7 mod. it is the setup i use.
