Sorry everyone, one of the key words is "light". If that doesn't work in 3rd person, its a deal breaker. I live in 3rd person, don't wear a mining hat, and 99% of the time don't use power armor. I like a stealth Character, and live by the Pipboy light instead of flashing a bright light that says, "Here I am come shoot Me!". If You want, rename PipboyLowPlayerI.nif to PipboyLowPlayer.nif, and delete the ESP You will have effect all the time without having to equip anything. I only made the ESP to be able to turn the effect on, and off; for those who wish to. Its the NIF that makes it work, not the ESP. I use the ESP, because the Pipboy works good on combat armor, but not a swimsuit. I just wanted everything to work the same without the 3rd person Pipboy visual. Simple, and functional. I also added a optional NIF only file to get the effect without equipping anything. For use with vanilla Pipboy; may not work with Pipboy mods. I don't care what the 1st person looks like, only the 3rd person. ;)
... There's the Pip Pad mod. which actually has a functional pip boy, not on your arm, and still lights up. Looks better than a floating glowing light on your arm
Hey Orbiebell, I think this mod is underrated, I've never let it leave my load order since I've found its ease of use, thx!
*since forever using this mod, I noticed that the pipboy in 1st person view has a sort of texture loss (textures go from HD to low res, blurred) after tabbing into pipboy menu the first time following equipping the invisible item. In other words if your in the pipboy menu and equip invisible item, the pipboy textures remain normal (HD) as long as you stay in the menu, but if you tab out and back in, immediately you'll notice texture loss.
Do you have this issue to or is it just me?
Also your new update has "ArmorKeywords.esm" marked as masters. Doesnt work in ma loadorder nomo :P What is that mod anyway, any good?
Armorkeywords.esm gives you more options on customizing I don't know how it got set up on it I'll upload a version without it, I haven't run into the texture problem, it just uses the textures available on your system I'll see if I can figure out what's happening for you and if I can fix it. The fixed version without Armorkeywords.esm has been uploaded.
i kind of like the automatic 3rd person aspect of this mod, that one you have to unequip it to get it to not show, nobody cares about it not showing up in 1rst person, but if you play hot momma Nora, you want to have this option automatically because it's such a clunky appendage on her wrist, maybe there is a more futuristic version of the pipboy redesigned out there that does the pip boy that makes it slimmer looking that it feels better.
Would your Mod work better with Pip Boy Flashlight? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10840 since more or least all the other Mods arn't compatible with it.

You can make it invisible, just open the mesh and delete the pipboy and its parts but leave the rest, and it's gone in 3rd person, I also edited the esp to remove the lens flare (that glow when you look at it) since it was annoying af.
Also, no mods are compatible because they replace the custom mesh with the data for the flashlight to work.
I checked on Pip Boy Flashlight, and its not compatible as is. You could ( with the authors permission ) modify the third person Nif to work like Mine.
I just noticed on the Pip Boy Flashlight download page there's a optional patch called Pip-Boy Flashlight - Hide Pipboy patch by MaxShadow09. That may be what your looking for. install Pip Boy Flashlight then the patch. I hope it works for what You need, if not I'll try to help more if You want.
After all this time it amazes me that there are still users who don't get this simple point. Authors don't make mods for you. We make them because we enjoy making them. Maybe there are other option to fix this problem but our poster here took the time to figure out their own fix for the problem and in the process started developing skills for dealing with other problems down the line. If the only thing you have to bring to the table is "there's another mod that does the same thing" maybe keep that to yourself. Choice and options are a good thing and no one is making you download this or any other mod.

...hmm...
Anywho, kudos to you for wanting something, not finding it and just making it yourself.
Good job.
Endorsed for the initiative taken. <thumbs up>
It's really not very nice, even if the mod has been done similarly before, posting links to other similar mods on a a mod page.
Just uncouth.

Light works fine, everything else does too. Every once in a while it hoses up but that is a signal it's time to save and start up again.
Now if someone could end the dataleak. I know, ancient engine.
