01 of may 2023 i added my cleaned two ini files for ultimate 4k ultra experience. but you need nice hw and vram! you find them as an optional zip file to download!
no enb and reshade included. --------------------------------------------------------
i will add here some minor changes in my files since my upload, maybe useful for you. 23 of oct 2021 add the current settings i use (needs reshade but no enb) as main file 2 of apr 2021 lowered enb fog setting verticalfadenight to 0.07 (darker)
in v2.0 i added two batch files for command line to adjust ugridstoload setting ingame i changed many subtle details - for the better i think. but you still need a capable rig for that ;) recommend at least 8gb fast vram and 32gb ram. otherwise you should reduce some settings... the most important: resolution setting! reduce resolution with lesser than 8GB vram, otherwise game will not load! recommended: 4k with 2080ti or 3070 and higher or 6800 and higher 2k with fast 6GB or 8k GDDR5x or GDDR6 vram Card full HD with most cards with at least 4GB GDDR5 vram (old 1050ti due to 128 bit interface maybe already too slow) below 4GB vram: try 1366x768 or 1280x720 and pray for good framerate
-don't forget to set [Display] bSAOEnable=0 if you don't like the game AO. i use instead the more subtle enb AO. this will also give you some extra frames.
- changed fLightLODMaxStartFade to 64000.0 for more distant light (fallout.ini, display) - raised enb environment ambient lightning intensity slightly for lesser dark shadows.
Hi, can you please let me know what this in your enblocal.ini is: ProxyLibrary=d3d11accelerator.dll , especially the accelerator part, where do I get it? As my game wont start cause it misses it obviously ^_^
you can simply delete this entry or use the mod "loadaccelerator" you find here on nexus. i can recommend it to shorten loading times a little. it is the dll used by this mod (maybe renamed by me) placed in the game directory to be loaded
I am a noob when it comes to Reshade (not that I am an expert with ENB presets) and I like to see what others do, so I downloaded your preset and I installed ReShade. The interior shots were very good (https://imgur.com/Pb2ANoL), I was impressed with the differences made, especially at the Institute where many ENBs suffer (forgot to take a screen shot). I was not, however, happy with the DC Market (https://imgur.com/iOp5A8S). I could not see any detail of the upper decks in DC. I tried but could not figure out how to adjust the brightness. I found the brightness setting, but it did not change anything. At first, I thought this had to do with the ReShade, so I uninstalled it. The referenced images above are after I uninstalled ReShade. Uninstalling it made no difference.
thanks for feedback. for an unknown reason i can not see your image. i can not say that enb suffers anywhere. the problem is, that my settings are optimized for nvidia drivers. there can be a slight difference if you own an AMD card so that you have to adjust some settings to see the same with amd card. amd driver seem to make image to be a little more brighter und water and some other settings may need some finetuning or different settings. a perfect setting needs time and some fiddling. good luck with your finetuning!
BTW, I have an nvidia card, RTX 2060, 1.5 TB of SDD space, 32 GB of Ram, Inte i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz
I have been having some visual oddities in my current game. I think it has to do with over-building some of my settlements with clutter. While I do not believe this is related to your ENB, I thought I would add this info. BTW, in downloading ReShade, there were so many options, what wold you recommend are a must option with your ENB. Like I said, I really like the interiors this ENB renders, but outside (wherever I am) exteriors are very dark. The darkness seems to be a common factor for me with many ENBs.
sounds strange. it should look like as in my images. maybe the problem it is your monitor. i play with an oled monitor and everything looks sharp and crisp. that is how i prefer my setup. compare with my images or use them as a reference for your monitor settings. if you own for example a lcd monitor with limited contrast my settings and no graphics card can solve this problem. good luck! you may check for enabled hdr or level setting if some shadows are too dark. disable game hdr! use reshade hdr. you can adjust the intensity and you can play with the level option. thousands of options and adjustments - it is on you to test and use them for your prefered setting.
Thanks for the input. It's not the monitor. It's less than a year old, 240hz. I think that I need to mess around more with the settings and learn what each does. Will check around for a tutorial.
ok, yes. seems that it is not the display. the built in ambient occlusion can also be a source of too dark images. in my settings in game ao is switched off! i use only my enb ao settings. reducing can also help.
Well, I finaly got your ENB working (as a side note, I got to learn a lot about ENBs and ReShade in the process). I used your ENB with Reshade. I had changed the Proxy in enblocal.ini as follows: EnableProxyLibrary=true InitProxyFunctions=false ProxyLibrary=d3d11.dll
and it worked and it looked great. Both the ReShade options came up. No crashes, no darkness or overbearing shadows. I made a few tweaks as I prefer a bit more light in the environment.
I think, however, that I had to rename the d3d11.dll to something else, can't remember now because for the last two days I have been rebuilding my downloads and my game because One drive decided to dump half of my files, including my saves from the last 30 days, into an ethereal realm of bits and bytes! Since I had to reinstall everything, I no longer had copies all of my changes that I did to the enblocal.ini file saved. So, my question for this is, whether the above proxy settings will work?
As an aside (and just in case someone has a problem if their game is not under the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4), I decided since I was redoing everything, I switched my game directory outside of the program files 86 directory. To ensure that all my ini files were pointing to the right sources, I opened up all the pertinent ENB and ReShade files to check that out. Sure enough, they were all pointing to the default location, which makes sense.
My last question (I hope) when I looked at your default preset in the game folder (I had to edit the game path in that) I notice for the pre-processor definition there was a whole slew of references to effects, etc. When I install Reshade, should I do a full install of all the effects and textures/shades for your ENB to work as intended? Please let me know. It is real simple to install Reshade, understanding what all these effects do, that's a whole other story.
In closing, thanks for a very nice ENB preset. I have tried a ton of them and I like this one very much. Hopefully I will start the game up tomorrow (I have over 300 mods installed, of those about 80 light mods) so it is taking me a lot of time to get it fine tuned. Endorsed!
hi, thank you very much for your more than standard feedback! much appreciated! i'm glad that you never gave up on this and i'm sure you`ve learned a lot in the meantime these enblocal settings can be tricky. you just have to rename and assign the dll so that all plugins work together even if you include reshade. to your question - i always do a full reshade install just to be able to test the effects (not all). in the end i always do not use more than three or four. but the nice thing is just to play with them. some do nothing, some crash and a few are a really nice or entertaining enhancements.
Thanks for the reply. It is antithetical to my character to just give up on something. So far, the game plays well with both ENB and Reshade. Now I need to figure out a way to try different ReShade presets. The ones that are just an ini file are simple, the ones that come with their own shaders etc. in separate folders are more of a puzzle, a puzzle I will eventually solve. Take care.
call it what you want ;) it is my collection and backup of the ini, enb and reshade settings i use in my setup. it produces the look of my game shown in my images i added.
This looks very nice, I think I'll go ahead and give 'er a go. I love that natural, high clarity look and haven't had it in a while, having favored a warmer look to the game for some time but I'm starting to miss realism. I'll make sure to come back and give further thought. Thanks for the upload, friend!
thank you. i disabled most of the built in effects and exchanged them by milder ones. especially ingame ao was an annoyance and so i completely switched to a mild, more subtle and natural enb ao.

recommend at least 8gb fast vram and 32gb ram. otherwise you should reduce some settings...
the most important: resolution setting! reduce resolution with lesser than 8GB vram, otherwise game will not load!
recommended:
4k with 2080ti or 3070 and higher or 6800 and higher
2k with fast 6GB or 8k GDDR5x or GDDR6 vram Card
full HD with most cards with at least 4GB GDDR5 vram (old 1050ti due to 128 bit interface maybe already too slow)
below 4GB vram: try 1366x768 or 1280x720 and pray for good framerate
-don't forget to set
[Display]
bSAOEnable=0

if you encounter perfomance issues or ctd watch my experience reports and knowledge bases:
1. check xrayys fo4 performance and fps tutorial
2. no ctd for turing
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks for sharing your setting/preset.

You should really call this "xrayys ini enb reshade preset and other minor gameplay tweaks okt 2020" as it is not just an enb and reshade.....
