  • Lots of Green Grass or Vanilla Trees

If you find that you either start out with or suddenly have lots of green grass everywhere (and not just in random spots that Badlands 2 offers because the world has several biomes), it is most likely your mod order. If you went full Desert Creature Achievement Level (Description page) where you added all the mods listed, the load order for the most important landscape mods would be:

    myLOD loads last of everything
Badlands 2 grass plugin loads before #1
Badlands 2 main landscape loads before #2
    Desperados Overhaul loads before #3
True Grass loads before all of those, anywhere really, whatever the mod organizers do with it

ALL preferably loading after other mods as a sure sign that world looks as we intend it. It is also prudent to try...

  • The Mods: Why I Use Them or What They Provide -- Details

Load Order Full List - You're A Desert Creature Gold Achievement
True Storms - Awesome weathers! Also really changes the vanilla dust storm to be really something vital to a honest desert experience imo.

HUD Framework - Needed for JD's Weapon Overheating, but a few mods use it too.

Consume Without Pickup ESL available - See food? Eat food. You don't have to pick it up to e...

  • Generating Distant LOD and Terrain with Badlands 2 and Desperados Overhaul

Be sure to follow the tutorial on the Badlands 2 mod page for generating Distant Object LOD and also Terrain. One issue that I had was taking the image provided there too literally and failed to check the Terrain checkbox. See my image below for my particular settings. I wasn't sure if any of the other non-DESERT mods I had added included DLC objects into the actual world itself, so I used 8192x8192 instead of the lower setting as per the tutorial.

Notice that the Terrain LOD box is checked! If you don't the distant terrain will be darker. If you do, the distant terrain will be lighter. Choose!
