Now this is a mashup that makes sense. Puts a whole new perspective on the interrogation you get when you try to enter Vault 81. Vault 81: Now tell me where you got that Pip Boy from. You: From a Pip-Boy terminal I bought off Trashcan Carla for 100 quid. Vault 81: A wha...Right..... We got us a weisenheimer here.
The term is Jury Rigged for reasons which date back to the days when they sailed the open seas. When you have stuff break out on the open sea, you jury-rig it however you can enough to get sailing again to get your ship back to a port to get fixed proper.
Typical, there's literally never an etymologist around when you actually need one.
But seriously, I think the correct term here would be jury-rigged... I definitely know jerry-built stuff is just badly made and jerry-rigged stuff is like something cheaply put together... Jury-rigged is make-shift but made as good as possible, given the situation and what you had to work with, which of course doesn't mean it can therefore only be cheap or badly made.
But kudos to the history nuts who actually knew the origins for these, that's so interesting, man!
I await the grammar/word-nazi accusations but in my defence, it's the little things, man, little things can make a big difference.
This is hilarious and fantastic, pra! I could totally see this being used in a dilapidated vault that's been converted into a wasteland settlement, or something like that.
Yes! This is awsome! From a immersion - point of view this is the best thing ever! Because any "computer system" without a keyboard is not really useful for actual "work". That's one reason why I don't really like / use "smarphones" IRL ... This is like one of those tablet - keyboard - things that exist IRL, but very much "improvised". I just love it!
Okay, this is cool. A salvaged pip-boy as a terminal interface. While you *can* play games on it, if it uses the terminal code, can you also control settlement equipment with it? I guess I'll find out soon enough. Since it's an ESL, that makes the decision to load it really easy. I'm looking forward to controlling settlement hardware with a kitbashed pip-boy terminal now. :)
Fantastic stuff, really grateful for the .esl too. I imagined there would be a few pipboys lying around with it being 100/200+ years since a lot of vaults reopened, but none in the world? I guess they're rare but come on, some tech savvy wastelander must have pipboy hunted or hoarded at some point! Love this mod.

Also now I want to make an abandoned Pip Boy that acts like a radio.
I love it.
