So for some reason the bandanas are invisible on my character. They show up just fine on npc's (and dogmeat) but not on me. Any ideas on how to fix that?
Fixed the problem, i had a mod called Santanas Bandanas installed, and apparently it made all bandanas invisible. after deactivating it everything works fine.
I'm trying to figure out for the life of me what's causing all mine to go invis. I have more armor slots but even when I move s#*! vanilla it still does it. here's to hoping some xedit wizurdree works
I see many posts here with issues pertaining to AWKCR. I would highly recommend migrating to Equipment and Crafting Overhaul (ECO) prior to your next play-through. Yes, it will require you to have a new character and save file before you can start using it, but it is well worth the switch. Combined with FallUI and Complex Item Sorter, the adjustment is worth it. AWKCR seems to cause more problems than it fixes. It clutters up the leveled lists and tries to do too many things. Buffout recommends moving over to ECO and I concur. Unfortunately such a major change is not without it's own set of problems. You will need to determine if anything that you use that relies on AWKCR can be replaced by a plugin without such master requirements. This will involve disabling AWKCR first and see which mods show master file errors, and individually going to each mod page to see if there's a download without AWKCR as a requirement. You may run into 1 that doesn't have a replacement, in which case you could try using FO4Edit's Clean Masters function on that plugin. If Armor Keywords is no longer appearing on the file header list after doing so, then it wasn't really needed by that mod. I would suggest trying to find a guide to help you through such a migration or join a modding discord server if you run into issues. There's a discord link on the complex sorter page.
Also don't make changes like this mid play-through. Fallout 4 save files are super sensitive to changes, way more so than Skyrim. The rule of thumb is: Do not uninstall anything in the middle of a save. You may not see the consequence until later, but for the most part removing or even adding mods to existing saves is not good.
IF YOU ARE HERE BECAUSE ALL YOUR BANDANAS ARE RED NOW THIS MAY FIX IT
I ran into this problem long after I installed this mod but this is the culprit. I'm 48 hours into my game and I've had AWKCR installed since a few hours in. After I was trying out some new mods today like Eli's Armour Compendium (I couldn't get it to work so uninstalled), loaded up my last save and Dogmeat's Jangles Bandana was suddenly red! Nothing fixed it until I uninstalled AWKCR, loaded my save again, made a new separate save, closed the game, re-installed AWKCR (with all relevant patches during installation) and loaded it LAST when Vortex showed conflicts. Loaded up my save and if was fixed somehow. I later also installed Concealed Armor which when used with AWKCR and/or Armorsmith Extended also causes the red bandana issue. I couldn't find a way to fix the problem without completely overwriting Concealed Armors completely so I just uninstalled it and the bandanas went back to their correct textures.
I'm not sure why installing/uninstalling EAC triggered this problem in a mod I've had since very early on, but hopefully this helps someone.
i just came here for the exact same reason. was working fine (including my own retex for the skull bandana)...i installed both unique npcs mods (regular and creatures) and then this stopped working and all bandanas are the red one.
One of the causes can be the Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource (AWKCR) mod. It happened to me too, after I have updated it last month. Not only with bandanas, but also with RR Jumpsuits and all other outfits that have more variants. The author have removed the material swaps and introduced a personal sistem similar to modcolors. From what I have seen on the run, you should be able to change the material of you gear (bandana in this case) at the armor bench. Just that this kills all the variations in the whole game. Like you`ve seen, all will wear red bandanas and blue RR Jumpsuits, only you will have a different bandana and the Nuka Jumpsuit. I think is ment to complement that Unique NPCs mod, but as a lot f other mods require AWKCR, dedicating it entirely to that one is kind of suicidal. I have went into FO4Edit and removed all those outfits from the mod, but a specific and simpler solution could be to have this mod after AWKCR in the load order.
Can confirmed for AWKCR, I've just recently installed it and found out ALL of my bandanas end up red colors, I mean it's cool and all, but I miss having Cait wear the gunner one, so I'm assuming a fix for anyone running into this problem would be more ideal for them to create than having AWKCR messing with everything and having no ways to revert the issues that it usually causes even if the mods that came out of it are awesome as well.
I just came here for the exact same reason. Thank you for pointing out that the cause is AWKCR. I don't really like some new feature introduced by AWKCR but since most of the mods required it. There is no choice rather than live with it.
Hey, do you think you could do an updated version of the stars and stripes bandanna to fit with the lore?This is what the American flag looks like in Fallout lore: http://fallout.gamepedia.com/File:USA_Flag_Pre-War.png
(Edit: Oh and awesome work, btw. Downloaded and endorsed! )

But all that aside, Thanks for this mod :)

im going to see if un/reinstalling this works.
::edit:: it did not work.
