Hydrate's "Stay Awake" feature will work with your sleep level tracked by AN76.
What is considered hydrating by AN76 will be considered by H&EC.
What is considered not food by AN76 will be considered by H&EC.
Hydrate's "Allow Raw Meat" feature will recognize what AN76 considers raw meat, including AN76's raw fish.
Important!! If you are using AN76's features that allow you to eat and drink items on the ground be sure to turn off H&EC's equivalent features "Drink World Items" and "Eat World Items" from the MCM menu or holotape.
A fomod installer for the Give Me That Bottle patch is now available.
By default it will install the bottle filling script. The plugin is optional. The plugin is now an esl flagged esp again. The "thirst guy" update added before has been removed because it required that the esp not be esl flagged and it was causing problems.
If you choose to install the plugin, the second step will allow choosing a version of the plugin that adds additional support for The Nuka Project and Immersive Animation Framework.
Note: Versions of the plugin that support The Nuka Project do not have the nukaproject plugin as a master because it does not need to be a master and The Nuka Project has an esp and esl option. Just make sure you load the patch after nukaproject.esp or nukaproject.esl.
I came back, and again wanted to use this awesome mod. However, now it's telling me that 'I am out of food', no matter how much food I have in my inventory. I've changes settings allowing it to be permissive as can be 'radiated, etc', and it never eats anything... I have confirmed that nothing is editing the lists of food in FO4Edit. I'm kinda stumped... Anyone have any ideas?
p.s. water and other drinks work fine. p.p.s. eating food manually works fine
I was in the midst of restarting anyways, so I paid especial attention to the value tag on the food. Same behavior as before, 25 'institute food packets', 20 value, 'you have no food'. I'm still playing with this, to see if I can figure it out. :)
How does Hydrate determine if something is food? I noticed another mod that I've got isn't looting food, even though it's set to do so, so I'm wondering if NG update changed 'something' about food?
Yep, working F4SE v0.7.2 for NG, drink functions work fine, all other F4SE mods work fine. Is there something I can look at in xedit to see if it's not noticing things, correctly? I've looked at what I can in there, and it all 'looks' ok. The only thing I found that confused me is that there wasn't a FormID List for 'regular' food. There's one for Animal food, irradiated food, etc. I guess it's just going for anything that has the keyword ObjectTypeFood, and only excluding the other lists, but I'm not sure. I was thinking about downloading the previous version of HAEC but you don't allow archive downloads.
I'm more than happy to do any kind of research and/or testing on my end to help track this down.
Is there a setting that allows purified water and cola, beer, melons, etc. to be consumed as a substitute, but not unpurified water? Both when setting purified as priority and never unpurified as priority and both in connection with replacement, unpurified water is consumed as replacement. Is that how it is intended? It would be more logical that with never unpurified, even with the replacement option, unpurified food is never consumed.
Yes, I missed that too. Alcohol would be a nice bonus. A fantastic mod, I've been playing for years and am only seeing it now. And so far, it's been trouble-free. One thing I noticed, though: if I switch from commentary to dialogue, the language setting (german in my case) is ignored and the output is in english.
I don't enjoy watching my player character always ending up as an ambulant grocery store with a near endless supply of water bottles.
Leaving weight considerations aside, a reusable canteen, iconic item to any FO1/FNV player, would be the ideal solution if this mod could cover the canteens for seamless integration.
Thank you kindly for your consideration and sharing your very useful mod with us.
If the author agrees to it, and after their confirmation it works in game (can't test right now since I'm still finalising my mod list), I'm willing to share it either here or better yet to be incorporated in the main mod as an optional compatibility patch.
this is fantastic, i use it together with DAMN Apocalypse and no problem so far.... having a convenient way for eating and drinking without sacrificing the mechanics is amazing, thanks a lot for that....
Hey, I set the mod to prefer the cheapest food first, but I think it is picking the most expensive foods first. Like, eating a deathclaw steak when I have potato chips in my inventory.
Great mod, this and IAF have been a a fantastic addition to my load order!
Quick question; how does your implantation of the eat/drink in world differ to that in Grab and Eat? My understanding for that mod being made was to avoid a freeze when eating/drinking in world. I've not noticed any freezes with your mod but is it a potential side effect?
Will be using this either way, more wondering if it's worth disabling the eat in world with this mod and switch over to Grab and Eat.
I have never experienced a freeze from the eat/drink from world feature with Hydrate either.
The freeze the author of "Grab and Eat Revisited" mentions is likely an implementation issue specific to the old "Grab and Eat All-in-One" mod and not an issue that would be inherent to any similar implementation of the concept of using items directly from the world.
One plus for Grab and Eat is that it allows directly using a lot more than just food and beverage items. "Hydrate and Eat Conveniently" will always only be about eating and drinking.
If being able to directly use more than food and beverage items is something you want then maybe it would be worth disabling the Hydrate feature and using Grab and Eat. The downside would be not having Hydrate determine whether or not you actually eat or drink items directly based on whether you are hungry or thirsty enough.
There is already an item that does this, but it is not automatically added to your inventory. Use the "Get Eat & Hydrate Item" function in the Debug section of the MCM menu or holotape.
I added this for people that don't have the room for the separate Hydrate and Eat items. There is also an "Eat & Hydrate" hotkey that can be configured from MCM that performs the same function for those that don't want to use separate hotkeys.
When you use the item you eat first and then drink 3 seconds after.
I saw the hotkey option but I play in VR so can't really use it. I checked (almost) all the MCM options and didn't see a way to spawn such item, I didn't expect it to be in the debug section, lol. Thank you.
Now that AN2 has been supplanted by Advanced Needs 76, compatibility with it too would be awesome. I've not been using AN76 long, but so far I've noticed that the hydration substitutes option in the HaEC MCM is not picking alcoholic beverages from my inventory any longer (though I see KMI_Hydrate_List_AN2_DrinkKeywords uses vanilla FO4 ObjectTypeAlcohol, and AN76's plugin doesn't appear to alter the ingestible records where that keyword is applied, so I'm not really sure how it's breaking this exactly).
I will crack open AN76 soon and see what needs to be done to create compatibility.
For AN2 compatibility, Hydrate checks if the AN2 plugin is installed and looks up records from the plugin. AN76 has a different plugin with different records. Hydrate currently has no idea you're using AN76. It will soon though!
Aha, perfect, thanks! And yeah, I was wondering if maybe it was all gated behind a plugin check, which would definitely explain things since the plugin name itself also changed completely.
Another thing worth pointing out: Unlike AN2, AN76 adds its own eating/drinking from worldspace implementation, so you may want to note that users should enable one implementation or the other, and presumably not both at the same time. (Like in HaEC it can be toggled in MCM, at least.)
It's working great for me so far. I've confirmed the Hydrate aid item is successfully finding alcoholic beverages in my inventory again when substitutions are enabled. Thanks!

Just guessing...
