Yes, Sim Settlements 2 is out! You can find that mod here. It is a very fantastic mod, and if you liked Sim Settlements, then 2 will give you even more fun.
Sim Settlements and Sim Settlements 2 'add-on paks' like mine, cannot be combined.... to be used in SS2, they must be converted. By me. I will be doing that in the upcoming weeks, but work pressures might mean that I won't have it done until after Remembrance/Veteran's Day.
For those that do not wish to move over to Sim Settlements 2, I will be continuing with this mod, especially with the 3 other plots still under production as listed on the description page. As they are completed, I will update the mod.
Have fun folks, and stay sane out there in the Commonwealth!
So, did you convert this mod to also be compatible for Sim Settlements 2 yet - it is 2021, and I would really love to have other plots to add to my selection
There's just a problem with this mod. When its plots are built side by side, if there's ever a power grid issue and the plots need to be re-wired, it's impossible to do it as the level 3 buildings are clipping with the conduits of recreational power poles and the game won't let re-wrire them. The only work around is resetting the plots to level 1 and that's kinda a nuissance.
However, I am a bit confused. I don't understand how 6 plots could equate to 150 MB download size. To put this in perspective I just downloaded a major addon pack with like 70 plots and it was only 100 MB.
Not that its that big of a deal, Im just curious. I assume there is some form of file compression possible that others have used?
Great mod, I loved all plots. At first, by the pictures, I thought they were all open, but most plots upgrade to full two-story buildings with walls. Good job.
The library has pink instead of some of the textures for i guess they are magazines? some pink squares on a magazine rack and the shelf that I guess has boxes of comics has pink squares on the fronts of the boxes. Wonder what textures I could be missing?
Do you have all the DLC's? These are the only other requirements. Unless the textures haven't downloaded correctly. If you have all the DLC's, it might be worth trying to manually downloading the mod instead of using your Mod manager. Only a suggestion that I have come across a few times regarding stuff like this.
That sounds like the mod did not download correctly from Nexus. To start, you can close your game, uninstall the mod, redownload from nexus with your mod manager, and reinstall. Then reboot up your game. If the textures are still pink/purple, then a manual download and install would have to be the way to go, as RobotsSmell suggests above.
As I am sure you know, there's mods like Real Readable Books and and Beantown Book Club. Do you think it's worthwhile to provide patches so those with the book mods can get them displayed in the BPL branch plot?
The book covers from 'Real Readable Books' and 'Be an Author' are already featured in the library plot, with permission. Beantown Book Club does not offer permission to use their assets in other mods without express approval, so I haven't been able to use them in my plot. However, it isn't outside the realm of possibility for a future release of my mod to have books from other mods to show up in the plot, if you already have the corresponding mod installed.
Right now I'm focused on finishing up the other 3 plots and getting them published. Once that is done, I'll have more bandwidth for more refinement of these first plots. :D
Thank you for this. The Library, the Park and the Dance Hall are wonderful. Can’t wait for the Post Office and graveyard. I can’t believe that no one thought of a graveyard before this mod.
The Tourist Centre, the Cemetery, and the Post Office plots are not ready yet. They are in production, I'm working on them, and I hope to release them before too long. For now, just select one of the other 6 available plots. I promise, you'll be able to build the Tourist Centre soon.
are they also those which remain from versions before 1.1? I might have found a way to force SS to rebuild the lists without you having to remove and re-enable the mod. I will test it and if it works, post how to do it.
