Will the snap points ever be fixed, namely the triangle fill pieces? There is only so much one can do with reskinned building set pieces that don't snap properly to each other.
Great mod, I searched around for tent pieces and this does the job! The other tents I found were just one piece objects and pretty small. This also works well for canopies.
Thanks for the tip about the creative clutter mod; never looked into it before and now, thanks to you I'm using it. Honestly my lack of modeling skills shames me due to the lack of draping of the roofs, the swaying of the walls, etc. This is basically a reskin of basic vanilla shack walls and roofs. This was made as a gap filler since I'm a mod user and nothing was available on the nexus at the time, so I will always be happy if something better is available.
Hello from five months into the future from someone who just found this mod while looking for ways to make a better Brotherhood of Steel M.A.S.H unit - Don't sell yourself short! "Reskins" of existing pieces like this still takes a considerable amount of effort to pull off and yours look wonderful. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us!
I am struggling with placing the triangle fill pieces, as if they are placed on a tent wall, the tent roof won't snap whatever I do, and if the tent roof is in place, the triangles will not fit on top of the walls, as if the pieces are getting in each others way. An update to their collision/how they snap would be absolutely fantastic. Even if you won't update the mod any more, a video at least of how you get them to snap would do.
I believe the roof pieces don't snap directly to the fill pieces. This is an oversight. Both snap to wall pieces, however. So place another wall piece at a 90 degree angle as a base for the roof piece.
That is so annoying, I'm sorry about that. Try placing the roof piece first. Or place walls in a way so you can place a roof on the other side and then snap this roof to the opposing roof. You shouldn't have to do this, it should just work, but it may be a workaround until I get around to fixing it.
Unfortunately neither of the recommended methods work. (I assume you do not have this problem due to "Place anywhere" or a equivalent mod) I look forward to a update/fix. Thanks for the help, and your time.
A long known bug and not yet fixed. Two parts, the"Tent Fill Left"and"Tent Fill Right"do not snap with the roofs.Hope it will be fixed after all these days.
Great mod! Just thought I'd mention, if you're ever working on the textures, the old Army canvas tents these are modelled after use wood framing, not metal. Probably a hold over from WWII, where metals was more valuable for vehicles and replacements for broken wood parts could be easily manufactured from local materials.
The original mod had wood frame as it was a rextexture of shack walls/roofs. I added in the tent poles after feedback to try and fit more like how people are used to from New Vegas/ 3.

If anyone is interested - I've made a Settlement Menu Manager patch for this mod so that it has its own menu in the workshop.
Looking for a top cover
Now this looks like a way to finally do it.
I just wish it had window pieces :)
I also recently discovered someone made a workshop objects pack for the point lookout mod and it has a well made canvas tent in it.
I see the point lookup workshop items mod. I might take a look.
I think Creative Clutter also has a military tent too but it's a fixed size and kind of buried on the menu.
