would you consider moving the call activator at the police station over to the deep range transmitter?

Ok, so I'm like 98% sure this mod is not the problem, hence why I'm not making a bug report. I have all of the VertiCall mods installed, and it seems the only one that the vertibird physically flies to is the Milton helipad. The prydwin version, I see a vert take off from the parking garage, fly towards DC, then disappear. A few minutes later, it just appears hitched to the Pryd. The Cambridge just appears after a few minutes, no fly in or anything from that. The vert's act as they should when I board them, and as soon as they spawn the quest log updates properly. No I say it's not this mods fault because I've had similar issues just running vanilla, and/or with no mods running that alter vertibirds. Throw a flare, message updates that one is inbound, then it just appears from thin air.

My question comes to here because apparently I'm the only one experiencing this. Google has turned up zilch, so I'm asking what in the holy name of the Creation Kit is causing this bug! Since this is the one predominately that it happens with, I thought I would pose it here to see if anyone has any ideas.

I suspect this was answered in PM, but while I don't experience any Cambridge issues the prydwen bird just appears for me as well. i figured it's working as intended in this regard. if not, then I suppose maybe I'm also experiencing this bug? either way I've no issue with it. hope this helps

Ok, this is puzzling the heck outta me.

If I go to your Cambridge helipad, and fire up the Vertibird Beacon (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14729) or fire off a vanilla vertibird signal grenade, I get a messaqe advising that the 'bird can't land there.

If I use your Verticall button, I can see the 'bird approach and land.

So, as someone who doesn't know their way around editing tools, I gotta ask: how the heck didja do this? As far as I can see, you can't be calling the vanilla vertibird script, because the two methods mentioned above (which should be using this script) don't work here. So what have I missed?

VCL uses the vanilla VFT mechanism and, in this respect, acts exactly the same way a signal grenade would.

The trick here is the location of the "point of call" - where the grenade would 'explode', if you were to use a signal grenade. That's what the CallpointProxy script is for. Also, it would be quite difficult to get a regular signal grenade to explode in the required spot there (but can be done).

      Yes, Vertibirbs are weird.

If I understand arightly, CallpointProxy feeds a location to VCL. Not necessarily the current location, but one that the 'bird will actually land at. Is this so?

I confess I spent a friutless 5 minutes or so walking around this helipad, trying to find somewhere I could call the 'bird from. Got any hints? :)

"Vertibirds are weird"? The more I try to get the damn things to work, the more I suspect that they were a late addition to the Fallout 4 project. Ok, so programming the 'birds to put down in a reasonably flat and clear bit of ground seems sensible. But, in a game where users are going to be changing what counts as flat and clear, to not make the 'birds take settlement objects into account seems to be incomprehensible. Unless, of course, they ran out of time to make them integrate them with the rest of the content.

It's impressive how Bethesda could not provide a simple thing like a working Cambridge's PD helipad. Well done.
