    Hey guys, I'm not good at English but I want to say THANKS to you all.
    I update new version that sound fx changing. but I knew maybe someone doesn't like this or just feels annoying.
    I tested almost fifteen kind of variation that "adjusting volume", "using different effect" or "just testing sound file data size".
    My primary object was making mod that no one be stressed from this sound, but you know a sound is very complex issue to handle and I knew this is not a perfect.

    Anyway.
    As I said before I had no plan to updating this mod at first.
    but you guys made me do this. that's makes me really happy.
    So, I appreciate your interesting. that's all.

    Just wanted to say I found this mod 7+ years ago and it is still working great (Lucky You variant) on Next Gen 2.  I can't play without this mod at this point.

    the Lucky You version does not take into account if luck gets higher than 10 (say by grabbing the Luck Bobblehead after already reaching 10 luck, which makes it 11 luck)

      That's intentional, the person behind the mod wanted to cap out the chance at 15%

    I feel this mod can become quite over-powered compared to Idiot Savant (IS). Idiot Savant *at most* makes you get an average of 55% additional XP per XP gain (at IS 2, INT 1). With GG you can get more than a 100% additional per XP gain on average (starting at Int 15 though, but the 55% is surpassed already at Int 9). I made some charts for visual comparison at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mrGLPOtMuCIq8HB_AyVvVnvz5cPV5mWWcZLcg4nnNJc/edit?usp=sharing#gid=1211731325 - go to the fourth tab to see the comparison of IS to GG if your browser doesn't go straight there.

    I would suggest capping at 11% change, like Vanilla Idiot Savant, and then changing the multipliers to x1.5 and x2.5 (instead of x3 and x5). This change would make it so that IS1/2 and GG1/2 are equivalent at Int 8. To me, this seems more appropriate for something targeted at high-Int characters. (I believe the Idiot Savant is there partially to make up for the lack of XP high-Int characters would otherwise get from the Int XP bonus, even though you'll always get more XP with IS, even with high Int.)

    Just some feedback from a random passerby since I like poking at the maths of the game. :p Obviously, it's your mod and you're free to disregard any of my above comments or suggestions.

      The lucky you variant can be more balanced, overall, if your worried about that.  It means you cannot just over-stack intelligence to get the most exp.

      I prefer this mod because otherwise, when you know how this works, idiot savant makes intelligence a DUMP stat, that is a stat that you should never take, ever because it SLOWS your exp.  It becomes useless to the max.  Intelligence in fact becomes a big penalty for anyone who wants hacker, science ect.

      Thats really this mods purpose; to buff intelligence so it's usable, instead of a useless stat that weakens all builds(only power armor needs it, oh yeah even then you only need 6 intelligence, you get more than enough cores you don't need nuclear physicist).  Luck still results in more exp per point investment overall, but your no longer penalized for taking intelligence.  You can stack the two, sure, but if your a long time fallout 4 player like me you appreciate leveling up faster for it.

      I see this mod as a buff to intelligence, so intelligence isn't a universal "dump stat".

    This is unnecessary, broken and overpowered.

    The way Idiot Savant works, it is a flat chance to get a multiplier on any randomly selected experience gain. The chance of that random proc is based on your Intelligence score.

    The thing is, there is no 'soft cap' where Idiot Savant gives diminishing returns or gives worse xp after your Intelligence is above a certain point. For every rank of Intelligence, Idiot Savant makes the average amount of XP gained over time higher. You can have 10 natural Int, boost it up to 12 with the Bobblehead and You're SPECIAL!, and be wearing all sorts of +INT gear and taking +INT chems and boost your Int up to some ungodly number like 30, but Idiot Savant will always give you a BETTER average experience gain than if you don't have it. It isn't explained well in game, but it has been rigorously tested and this is absolutely how it works.

    When you reverse how it works and make it proc more on HIGHER Int, you actually make it incredibly overpowered and unbalanced. tl;dr- this is cheating.

    The only 'fix' Idiot Savant needs is one to remove the annoying DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHH????!!!!!! sound.

      I actually use this mod, but I use the lucky you variant, and here's the thing.

      Rank 3 is idiot savant so overpowered WITHOUT this mod intelligence becomes the weakest dump stat in the entire game, period.  It becomes useless to the max, something you hurt yourself for taking, EVEN IN A POWER ARMOR BUILD.

      This is because triple EXP stacks so formidably that with high frequency of playing a moron ends up triggering at the beginning of many dungeons.  When in effect all enemies are giving exp as if they are 1, sometimes 2 tiers higher.  Boss enemies at the end of dungeons give ludicrous exp also.

      Lucky you variant means you need more investment overall to make a super high exp build, but thing is, idiot savant is already an insane exp build.  You just get ludicrous amounts regardless anyways with normal idiot savant, why not make it so intelligence isn't a dump stat but actually useful again?  IMO, it's actually MORE balanced WITH the mod, than without.

      Balance: All stats are useful
      Imbalance: Certain stats are trash and easy choices to dump to 1.

    Not sure what the issue is, but requires Luck regardless of the mod choice. Used to be either intel or luck, but genius or lucky both require Luck now.

      I am having the same issue in 2022. XD. Not sure if things are working correctly.

      Edit: I switched to the old file version which contains the Genius Game Perk only. It worked fine. XD

    Hey, all.

    If you're just discovering this and want to get rid of the sound effect, No Idiot Savant Noise is compatible. Set the installer's sound effect change to "No Change" and you're good to go!

    I'm not sure how active this thread is, but I've been looking for an Idiot Savant replacement for a while. However, I use LevelUpMenuEX and HotDiggity. So my first question is compatibility there. My second question is simply: is this mod still function correctly?

    so basically. i ran into a problem. genius game level one. sure, no problem. level 2? not so much... at lvl 2 and 3 the perk suddenly goes back to being idiot savant. is this just me or does it happen to anyone else too?

    This really caught my attention ... and I tried it.

    The sad thing is - it was / is not compatible with a MOD that I have that removes the Idiot Noise.

    I seriously HATE that and it breaks the mood of the game.

    I am not sure what Beth was thinking ????? But this was NOT one of the " better ideas " at all.

      Well, this mod came with option to replace Idiot sarvant sound. If you select Lucky version there is nice sound tune fit very well with the perk

      I've been using this with a mod that removes the noise for 2 years, and they work fine together, you just need to install the noise mod after this one, the noise mod I use is ONLY a sound file with no esp, not sure if there's one with an esp that's incompatible because I have seen simple sound mods with esps (For example: the one that quiets generators and turrets, Old version is just the sound files, new version has an esp)

      No Idiot Savant Noise
