I have been looking for any sign of variables relating to forward thrust to the jet pack for the past hour and a half, at this point I really really doubt there is any way to change the forward thrust without scripting. If anyone can prove me wrong I'd be glad but as far as I see it it is not possible, sorry guys.
UPDATE: I had uploaded the wrong file on the 10% drain, it should be corrected now. Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.
I can't implement it that it switches to a higher number whilst flying and back to 100 when not without scripting, so will have to wait for the geck for that sadly. Unless anyone knows a way, do tell me please.
I've endorsed this and it's... sort of good... LOL. I'm not taking any kudos from you; I know the current limitations. As I track this mod I ask that you not walk away and several changes are required to make it epic. I realize that realistically as thrust overcomes gravity speed in liftoff increases dramatically, but it makes playing it difficult. I take off and for the first 30 feet all is fine only to discover in the next second or two I am at several hundred feet. A more measured assent would be appreciated. When modders can affect scripts I'd love to see some cruise control so that a given amount of thrust can maintain an altitude even to allow proper aiming at targets while in mid air. Then there is the forward movement issue that would allow us to really fly. So, keep up the good work
This mod http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11010/? increases the lateral movement but reduces your vertical movement. Maybe something in there can help out. I use your mod all the time, i wish it went forward faster though.
People please stop asking me to scrip this to work with thrust and stuff. I want it too, but at this point I don't want to look in to it. There'll probably be a mod for it at some point anyway.
Mod Jetpack Overhaul adds thrust and holotape with settings. If just jetpack boost needed without changing vanilla mechanics - "Real working jet pack" is the answer. If the flying jetfighter needed with an adjustable settings - Jetpack Overhaul is the solution. (F4SE dependent)
I prefer "Real working jet pack" , because it just changes settings that you can change manually in ini settings files. So this mod not invasive and thus (I assume) does not depend on the version of the game and any changes that comes with it. As well, I can confirm it works fine with current FO4 version - 1.10.163.
I'm guessing this is one of those mods that only works with the player character? Would love but doing hardcore build and seems op. Would balance out (if not overly) if enemies could do same, but sounds like an a.i. logistical bug filled nightmare so I hardly think that's possible. Lol. Maybe I'll use on next playthru looks Hella fun
thank you very much. your mod adds something better to the game. i tested some others that promised more but did not worked .
your mod works, so it's great.
i only tested the 10% . i read that the bigger one sends us flying too high ... maybe the 10% is enough . in any case, it's so much better than the miser vanilla value.
also tested it with "Bastion - A Power Armor Overhaul" "Longer Lasting Fusion Cores" "Rechargeable Fusion Cores" "Craftable Fusion Core" "No Aggro Impact Landing (Power Armor)"
seems to work well.
would it be possible to add another version with just 1% depletion, instead of 10% ?
Hello I downloaded this mod using mo2, after coming back to fo4 after a long break, .. It works for ap flight drain, now if I can just find something to lower my sprint ap drain =) Using jet packs mods https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18891?tab=posts fao v5 and https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/19962/? sf jet pack combat mod
so old but still working... Better than another similar mod (long use jetpack) since in this one you can actually control at low height and then you get a boost at higher height... Also if you are free falling jetpack can still start boosting mid-fall contrary than the previous mentionned mod.

player.setav speedmult <number>
I think 100 is the normal speed. So... If flying try it for, say 200, then reduce back to 100 once landed (Or about to) for normal on ground movement.
I'll let you know if it works or not.
I'll wait for an improved version when the GECK comes out.
