Just wanted to thank you. This is one of the mods I use in every play through. I also have a mod so that I can have a working fireplace that slides right in and I've found it very versatile, I have one small settlement where I used 1 house for a small spa area with bathtub, sink and toilet. Then had 4 little houses for the settlers. So much fun.
I never know what to do with the Nuka-World Red Rocket settlement... thanks to you I now have a solution with this mod.
Also, the missing windows aren't a problem as Snappy Builds has glass panes and Place Everywhere lets you change the angles, so now all the windows have glass.
Also, Homemaker has the fireplaces you find in most pre-war homes with a fire in them, they fit perfectly into the fireplaces in the cabins... I'll get a screencap or two to show what I mean.
It seems like a really cool mod, and I really wanted to use it - but my save files got corrupted after using it. I suppose it's some conflict with something else I'm using, but I just can't make it work for me.
Incidentally, there is another one of those cabins at the Nahunt wharf location, so I suppose they pop up in other places too - if you look hard enough for them...
They look pretty cool, thanks. However the large open side windows make it pretty draughty looking inside, there's a huge step-drop height at the front doorway, and placement of building on the ground seems relatively temperamental compared to other stuff. Note preview pics don't show in the menu, but it doesn't really matter as they still appear green in front of you in build mode so you can see how they look.
EDITED: I had thought interior navmeshing was off but I did just try moving a bed further from the doorway and now NPCS do freely walk in. However, this was only after force-fitting small footsteps up to the doorway (which didn't want to get close enough so I resorted to using modpos for them).
It shocked me when I realized NOBODY took it upon themselves to spruce up Thoreau's cabin and restore it to what it once might have looked like, or at least make it look decent, so, umm, I guess this is a start....
I love these, I only wish there was a way to build a fire in the fireplaces, or at least place logs in them. (they pop up to the mantle when I try) . Regardless, thank you for these!
I tried that already, and I have Woody's stuff...but can barely get it halfway in before it pops up, even with Place and snapping turned off. i have the same kind of issue trying to place clutter items from a mod in certain places, it wants to pop up to top shelves. I think it's a vanilla thing, but not sure.
Here's just a comment from my side: I won't do anything about it. My only goal was to retexture them and give them Snap-Points for doors. But it's open-source- so somebody can just take this and make it better.
Thank much NikCatNight! Apparently things didn't like the virtual numpad on my Razer keyboard, so I was forced to go back to an older keyboard. Fairly bummed about that, but oh well, whatever works!
You can also use modpos console command it's what place also uses but then manually.. it's a bit fuzzy and takes a little trying. First clic on the item you want to move so it's id comes up in console then if you want that item to move up a bit just type modpos z 5. and if you want to move something down type modpos z -5 if you want it to move left or right use modpos x 5 or -5 or modpos y 5 or -5 . The number 5 is an example you can move in larger or smaller steps. I for example use it when two items are the same hight and overlap eachother so they "shimmer" a bit. ( for lack of the correct term i use shimmer) i then type modpos z 0.01. the "shimmer" is then gone and you can't tell that one item is a little higher then the other
I was looking for a mod that adds simple small houses/cabins so that I can give each and every one of my settlers a comfy home. This will do fine, thank you!
