Hello, is the new update 1.5 still compatible with the old FO4? I'm still using the older version before the update and don't want to destroy my game. Many thanks in advance!
Hi Zorkaz! Always love when you have a new mod. Inner City Ambience is not a new one but been using it for a while and is just great! Any addition to sounds in Fallout 4 are welcome.
However I made a little change on your mod for myself. The formID DowntownRegion, I don't know if your tweaks actually add something to the game from that record as that only the ones in AudioExtDowntownAUDIO should do the trick. At least for me does. Reason also why I delete that is because normally is a weather/lightning mods place. Anyway, really enjoy your mods and hope you can consider what I said here. For the time being, weather mods would need to be placed after your mod.
Good overall vibe, however, for what I like to call a "soundscape" there is too many volume spikes and sound peaks that upset the flow. It's what I call turbulent sound. Key examples are the rubble sounds, far too loud, the loud af GONG which is not needed at all, as is some of the sounds that sound like gunshots, movements, physics interesting or other dynamic elements that upset the flow. What you want to achieve with a soundscape is consistent level and tone. You can have ambient highlights, such as the metal stress groaning, flutters of dust and wind but what they mustn't do is "stand out" in anyway shape or form which draws direct attention to them. A great example would be HL2s soundscape files for city 17, minus the siren sounds, it's only like a 50 second sound file but it loops perfectly and they on top of that you have anything from 5-10 second random ambient highlights which characterise the specific "area" of the maps. To this day I still think it sounds top notch. I like the overall profile you've made, it just needs to start sounding second nature.
Really enjoying your mod, together with Ambient Wasteland creates great atmosphere. However one thing bugs me out, its that sound of falling rubble, its way too loud, 30-40%% quieter would be perfect IMO.
Vortex reports there to be an update for this mod even though I use the latest version (main file v1.2). This is probably due to a version 1.3 being listed in the changelogs.
In game I spend a lot of time on rooftops and I always forget about the clock when standing on top of trinity church... damn bell almost knocks me out my seat every time...
