Idk. Don't have F4 installed for 2+ years. Is it not an option to try which order of installation gives the best visual result. This mod is not just a texture replacer, it also edits some shader parameters to fake the light bounced from the ground in order to make branches less black.
The two files you can use from this mod without overwriting any of the added changes from Pine Trees Redone are: "RedPineDead01_d.DDS" and "BeachPineDead01_n.DDS"
This will improve the bare branches without changing anything else. If you want test it yourself just download the loose files and remove everything except the mentioned files.
Textures were bad but damn, the meshes are also terrible... and if you check the LOD meshes, they are even worse. not much effort by the B Team on this one.
I'm not surprised. In Assassin's Creed Odyssey large pine trees have ~13K polygons at LOD0 But in F4 Far Harbor - 10 times less!!! I guess the engine just won't give an adequate performance with more detailed models (esp. on consoles)
funny thing was talking about that a view days ago and currently work on my placeholder texture pack for FH textures which never got any attention until now^^. this is a great work. very well done and i'm looking forward to new releases. tracked / downloaded and endorsed. far Harbor is the only reason i still play FO4. (i personally think its a horrible fallout game...not a horrible game in general but just no fallout). i hope you want to take a look at the Far harbor tree bark aswell nevermind have a nice day.
Link to your texture pack? Maybe got no attention coz it currently does not exist on nexus?
I feel like the bark/trunk textures are fine. maybe a little to shiny and wet looking if anything, which can be edited by reducing specular strength or lowering the brightness of the specular texture.
Boston Natural Surrounds has a different texture for pine bark but I honestly prefer the original.
Thanks man! I was the one who requested this on your Forsytha Md Page. :) I probably just be using the Material file That edits subsurface and backlight since I am currently using A Different pine Texture, But that Dark from below issue was my main worry. Thanks again!

A step in the right direction.
