I'll add new books and magazines but I just wanted this mod out.

Also A.P is the players synonym, in case you're wondering
Also also: I wanted to make them like magazines, but then the game crashes. So it's a misc item.

The Horizon guy should do it. The way Horizon has been setup is a horror to modders

Please check out Beantown Books and consider making a patch that adds the keywords to this and Daisy's library?
I know you don't usually go back to things that are finished but Beantown Books, Nuka recipe retex, this and Daisy's library-, you can make a decent library (for the apocalypse) with little repetition.

I have contacted the author about using vanilla keywords. It's in his hands now, as I won't make patches for other people's .esp's. The process behind it is just too painful.

Ok. Don't get t exactly. Read the description and comments. So, do we actually write the text that goes into these books and mags? Or are they just the stories of those quests in general that make you the author?

I'm thinking along the lines of the journal of the sole survivor where I can keep a journal that I write myself. Is this similar to that or just creating a new object?

Either way, great work. I'm just curious, near my mod limit, wanted to ask before downloading.

It's a crafting option. You create fancy misc items based on the quests you've done. They are quite valuable so you can sell them or decorate your home with it.

This and basic fishing are one of those little touches that makes the game feel more integrating and cozy : )

    Thank you for these.

My suggestions: With all of the effort you put into creating distinct covers and making sure this mod integrates into game rather being just thrown into it (Like requiring material to build/write), it's kind of a shame that the books feels like mostly there for your character's own personal pleasure and a bit of quick caps. Perhaps it would work giving him an abillity to somehow distribute them to different traders and get profit from sales (And then also randomly stumbling upon his own books in the different shops, or even in random settlerss inventory)?

And in Fishing, I'd nerf a bit how much food it gives to your settlement or how quickly your character can catch one, at same time creating more prerequisits for play to build a fishing spot. Otherwise, your settlements and your characters inventory get "overpowered" with food super quickly.

    Thank you again for these.

Here's some possible ideas for future magazines and books:

At A Moment's Notice: Secure the Castle for the Minutemen.

The New Adventures of the Silver Shroud: Complete the Silver Shroud questline.

Grognak the Barbarian in the World of Tomorrow: Obtain the Grognak costume and axe, successfully romance all female companions, and sleep with Magnolia in Goodneighbor.

Human Error: Complete the Automatron DLC's questline.

Profile of a Killer - Conrad Kellogg: Kill Kellogg and access his memories.

Inside Covenant: Free Stockton's daughter from the Compound outside of Covenant and then secure the workbench after killing everyone in the settlement.

The Measure of a Man: Spare Danse during Blind Betrayal.

Plates Illustrated: Obtain the top ranks of Nuclear Physicist and Armorer, and complete the quest for the Atom Cats.

The Great Hunt: Kill Grun, Shipbreaker, and the Red Death in the Far Harbor DLC.

Bradberton - The Man Behind the Caps: Find John Bradberton in Nuka World and follow Sierra's request to keep him alive (this one's to sweeten the deal since her reward is kinda 'meh' next to the Nuka-Nuke). The implication here is that you and Sierra interview him about as much of his life as he remembers.

The Noble Savage - A Study of Mutant Society: Max out Strong's approval of the player.

Practical Wasteland Medicine: Max out Curie's approval of the player.

A Boy and his Bot: Max out Codsworth's approval of the player.

A Man of Many Faces: Max out Deacon's approval of the player. Note that the book's preface mentions that pretty much everything in the book is almost certainly bullshit.

Quincy - A Survivor's Story: Max out Preston's approval of the player.

Broken Bird: Complete Cait's companion quest.

Sex, Chems, and Violence: Max out Hancock's approval of the player.

Little Lamplight - A Mercenary's Biography: Max out Macready's approval of the player.

The Truth and Nothing But the Truth: Max out Piper's approval of the player.

In Sheep's Clothing - The Truth Revealed: Complete the quest "In Sheep's Clothing".

Canine Companion Care: Acquire Dogmeat as a companion, buy the junkyard dog from the random encounter, and buy at least three dogs from Erickson in the Far Harbor DLC.

The Gilded Grasshopper and Other Assorted Mysteries: Complete "Unlikely Valentine", "Disappearing Act", and "The Gilded Grasshopper".

Coming Home: Complete the Far Harbor DLC's main quest with Kasumi Nakano surviving.

The Treasure of Jamaica Plain: Open the time capsule at Jamaica Plain.

Wasteland Survival Guide, Revised Commonwealth Edition: Discover all marked locations on the map (not counting DLC locations) and reach level 50.

Return of the Dunwich Horror: Retrieve Kremvh's Tooth from Dunwich Borers.

Chem-Cooking for Wastelanders: Raid Marowski's drug lab during Diamond City Blues, obtain the Hallucigen Gas for Fred, and obtain the maximum level of the Chemist perk. The book is a parody of the "For Dummies" series of self-help books, so the cover should reflect that.

It Came From the Sky!: Kill the alien from the crashed spaceship and retrieve the Alien Blaster. Meant to be based on cheesy pulp sci-fi novellas you'd find in magazines in the 50s.

How to become a Ghoul and Keep your Looks - 99 Easy Tips!: Obtain the maximum rank of the Ghoulish perk.

The Book of Atom: Find the Crator of Atom in the Glowing Sea, Join the Children of Atom, complete the Far Harbor questline with any ending that doesn't involve the destruction of the Children of Atom, and complete all sidequests in the "What Atom Requires" quest chain.

Caps, Blood, and Intrigue - The Untold Story of Bunker Hill: Complete the quests "Boston After Dark", "Traffic Jam", "Fallen Hero", "Prep School", and "The Battle of Bunker Hill", and obtain Bunker Hill as a settlement.

Ancient Astronauts - An Archaeological Study: Complete "The Secret of Cabot House" by siding with Jack Cabot.

The Enlightened One: Complete "The Secret of Cabot House" by siding with Lorenzo Cabot.

Shelters or Tombs? Vault-Tec Revealed: Mark all vaults on the map (DLC included, and yes, this INCLUDES Vault-Tec: Among the Stars in Nuka-World), Convince the Vault-Tec Rep to return to Sanctuary, complete the Vault-Tec Workshop and Vault 81 questlines, and complete the following sidequests: "Hole in the Wall", "Vault 75", "Brain Dead" (requires Far Harbor), and Cait's companion quest.

The Toymaker: Complete "Giddyup 'n Go" and give Arlen Glass his daughter's holotape.

The Kid in the Fridge: Complete "Kid in a Fridge" by returning Billy to his family. Could be a good candidate for a children's book.

Powering the Future - The Story of Mass Fusion: Complete either "Mass Fusion" or "Spoils of War".

The Great Green Jewel - A History of Diamond City: Complete "Confidence Man", "Diamond City Blues", "Getting a Clue", "In Sheep's Clothing", "Jewel of the Commonwealth", "Out in Left Field", "Painting the Town", "Story of the Century", "The Big Dig", "The Disappearing Act", and "The Gilded Grasshopper", as well as the following unmarked quests: "Botany Class", "Brother Against Brother", "Diamond City's Most Wanted", "Fly Fishing", "Nuka Cola Needs", "Pool Cleaning", and "Wedding Day".

Mayday! Messages from the Apocalypse: Retrieve the flight data recorders from all downed airliners.

Mankind Redefined: Complete "Nuclear Family". This book is more or less the Institute's manifesto that the player may publish to try and give the common wastelander some insight into how they function (and earn some trust, which might be reflected by a small but permanent boost to charisma upon publishing it). Could be a good option for somebody playing as a 'reformist' Institute Director.

Not sure if this mod is ever going to be updated again, but here's some more possible book ideas:

The Unstoppables! Return of the Mechanist: Complete the Automatron questline.

Robotics for Wastelanders: Get the max rank of the Robotics Expert perk.

Cyber Security for Wastelanders: Get the max rank of the Hacker perk.

Lockpicking for Wastelanders: Get the max rank of the Locksmith perk.

The Art of Artful Dodging: Get the max rank of the Pickpocket perk and commit at least 100 acts of theft (picking up owned items or entering owned power armor)

The New Patriot's Cookbook: Get the max rank of the Demolitions Expert and Gun NutPerks.

Another Man's Treasure - How to go from Scraps to Caps: Get the max rank of the Cap Collector, Scrapper, and Fortune Finder Perks.

On the Weaponization of Cryonics: Obtain the Cryolator.

Strange Meat and You - Why You Should Eat Your Friends: Obtain the max rank of the Cannibal perk.

America's Former Passtime - The Lost History of Baseball in Boston: Complete Moe Cronin's quest and find the time capsule at Jamaica Plain.

Commonwealth Homeopathy: Complete the quest to find the Mutated Fern for the chem vendor in Diamond City and get the max rank of the Chemist and Medic perks.

Minutemen Drill Guide: Complete "Old Guns".
