Hi guys ! FlaconOil here I'm looking to modify BA2 and ESP archives for better performance with FO4. Since I haven't been able to continue the mod for a few years, I don't know if there's any news, but I remember reading comments about it. If you know how to prepare them, please let me know. PS : wasn't it about flagging ESP ?
Cathedral Asset Optimizer is a tool some modders and mod makers use to optimize their textures. It does a bunch of different stuff automatically, from compressing, downsizing, packing into ba2 archives or unpacking them, and using a special kind of texture optimization I think was called bc7 or something. It's fairly easy to use and can be found here on Nexus. Of course it's nothing that can't be done manually with something like GIMP or Paint.NET, but it's nice to have a program do a bunch of the monotonous work.
For ESPs I haven't the foggiest but that thing about flagging ESPs you mentioned is probably flagging an ESP as an ESL using xEdit (I think, I'm no mod maker so I'm not 100% sure). xEdit can also be used for cleaning mods, which I have no clue what it does but it apparently reduces the likelihood of errors and glitches.

Whille downloading the Part 2 of the 4K Fomod, I am receiving the following warning from Vortex: Errors were reported processing the installer for "Manual_Fomod_Installer ....." It's possible the mod works partially anyway. Is this problem known??
something I did some time ago and it burned out my old cpu, thankfully I upgraded and lack the same kind of lag as I had before, thus far this runs well with an i9-9900k comet lake with a msi 1070 graphics card.
I'm getting severe stutters. Not constantly, but combined with scripted mods (bodygen for fusiongirl and bodytalk3), the load is just a little too much for my old dog of a PC. RTX3080, I-7 8086K (top bin 8700K), and 16gb ddr4.

I have a 3080, but because this game runs so poorly for me in 4K I'm replacing some of the 4K texture packs I have installed with 2K variants. Here's hoping there'll be an improvement.
Maybe it's not the 4k that's the problem. Maybe instead of trying on a potato PC, try getting a real PC. I'm running in 4k on a 43" 120hrz monitor. Avg FPS is around 70 to 80. But if you are talking about a patch for previsbines, there's no need for that.. Ahh.. I get it now, this mod doesn't repair/ fill any holes, it's simply a replacer for vanilla textures !
I never had used that mod myself, I don't see the purpose :)
The thing I like most about this pack is that it's SO CLOSE to vanilla. As most people, I mix and match with either own textures or other mods according to my own preferences, but this particular pack covers most of the assets. Which is something I couldn't say happened in any other game :'D Looking forward to the mentioned updates!

I know that's a shame, but it's very time consuming and i do not have this time anymore. So i'm here making a call to anyone who would like to be a part of the mod by creating the Fomod installer. Also for the screen section if anyone is interested. By my side, there will now be only BA2/ESP package as it is easier to do and the best for FO4 mod.
But as i'm who i am, there will be new screens time to time :p
But I wonder what the purpose is, I don't think we shall pick and choose each texture... But a complete upload with all resolutions in one with a fomod, is not very smart either...

Here's a fairly simple list of the ones I like, some do overlap, so I'll order them accordingly: Also assuming you're using MO2 or Vortex to automate / have load order...
[LOD] (optional--many likely overwrite, just make sure that the textures being used are also in LOD) - FAR - Faraway Area Reform, huge improvement for vanilla LOD; - Luxor's HD LOD, and another addon that increases details of vanilla LOD; - >>> Vivid's LODs here if you're using them <<<
[LANDSCAPE] - >>> Vivid's AIO here <<< / or Natural Landscapes by Spifferino (but lacks LOD and Complex Parallax) - Vivid Quarry: isn't in Vivid AIO set, so you'll also want this if you don't have it, might also fix quarry bugs; - Bloodleaf / Mutfruit / Rock's Moss / Stone Walls: all by Luxor, all are loose files; (for any wondering why I didn't include Luxor's Full HD pack, only some of his textures fit with the others)
[LANDSCAPE+] (optional) - FAR Improvement Project: required in order for LOD from Luxor's Summer to function; - Luxor's Summer: not 'lore-friendly', 210+ years most flora should be overgrowth + green; - Luxor's Greenery: (loose files) again on the same point, nature would've taken over the world by then; - (sidenote) Make sure to overwrite the coastal rocks by Luxor with something more appealing;

Thanks for the effort you put into this. But I'm wondering if you could put together an 8k version for those of us that only have a 72" 8k 260hz display. 4k is great on 4k but gets quite distorted on 8k. Not a demand, just a maybe.
