This was the immersion boost Survival-Mode Mod I was looking for. But unfortunately I can't get it to work. My first guess is incompatibilty with Commonwelath Conifers Seasons?! Does anyone have experience with this combo or another fix for me? Help will be appreciated, thanks and happy survival.
If you look today at the Chernobyl exclusion zone, 3 decades after the disaster, there are animals and green plants there. The lack of human activity may be a more noticeable effect than the radioactivity.

For example, I was expecting to be able to build a "tree station" or something similar that looks like a stand of trees, in my settlement, assign a settler, and have that settler provide wood resources over time. I'm pleasantly surprised by the different direction you took it. There's so many dead trees in the wasteland that can be put to better use!
All that being said, what do you think about the initial idea I mentioned? I fully understand if that's not something that interests you. But I feel like it goes with your other mods particular well, especially your carpentry mod. Just my $0.02.

Understood. Though a lot of people use “green” mods that make trees look healthier. And one could make an argument that 200 years is a lot of time for nature to recover. Either way, thanks for the reply!
Enjoying the mod so far Thank you for making this!
The only problem i've encountered is that sometimes when I'm in workshop mode, the trees I cut down appears for a brief moment and then disapear from time to time Spooky gostly stuff Nothing game breaker since they aren't solid and only shows up when i'm in build mode
I've seen that happen on Xbox One too. I don't believe it has anything to do with this mod as I've never used it. Might have something to do with previs or precombines, mod conflicts, or just one more screwy thing that occurs in this game.

I thought about it but the main reason I didn't do such things: -It's the Commonwealth: Trees shouldn't be able to grow that easily. At least not in a like ten days span. -I actually thought about getting sap from trees via a sap object that snaps to the trees but it would lead to so much incompatibility....

However, personally I feel like it's a shame that it seems to conflict with the ability to scrap trees in workshop mode; I do like to build a mod set for a more realistic and harder playthrough myself, but I'd still like to keep workshop and settlement tools intact, namely scrapping. I feel like workshop scrapping represents the combined effort of the entire settlement, after all.
Also, as far as downsides go, I'd personally much rather take time passed as the cost of doing this kind of work, as that would mesh well with survival needs and the day-night cycle. Maybe have a blackout screen when cutting down a screen, pass time a certain amount based on the size of the tree, and so on. Maybe even have a possible animal/raider ambush during cutting; the axe-banging would attract someone or something to attack you. Also, would be fun if it would require an axe as a tool, and maybe there could even be a chainsaw option that could be built, which would allow for faster cutting. In any case, that's just my personal preference and silly ideas. It's fine as it is.

This is still a very bit much experimental thing, so check out if you experience any issues.
Will break precombined meshes
Before many users ask:
I don't know about compatibility with flora mods but I think it should work with most.
But it's for you to find out and if it works or doesn't work with some mod please write it in the comments, so I can make a list.
Does this make any sense at all? Are my strength and endurance too low for tree cutting?
Thank you for making this!

Good job nonetheless!
