Quarry Settlements to use this on: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/34429 Quincy Quarries https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12222 Thicket Excavations https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/34154 Deep Thicket Excavations https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/34348 Dunwich Borers Settlement
Found out that settlers assigned to quarry block produce caps at an extremely low rate, instead of concrete. Totally not what I'm looking for, so I naturally wonder: Could it be edited to have settlers produce concrete instead of caps? I mean, caps as an outcome is pretty much pointless - we already got stores for that purpose. Concrete, on the other hand, is always high in demand when rebuilding the Commonwealth :)
EDIT: Succeeded in creating concrete and crystal mines for settlers, and these will actually add concrete and crystal to the workshop! Yay! I did this by butchering BbaronX excellent "More Scavenging Stations" mod and then frankensteining parts from this excellent mod onto the result. Sounds messier than it actually is. I'll be seeing about adding more functionality (metal ores and mills/builders to process them into the respective metals) and then -maybe, if I can get permissions- sharing it. :D
EDIT2: Made a custom script that allows for mining by player, too. Followed Zorkaz' lead there and implemented it so that you'll get exhausted - Not instantly, mind you, but only after mining for a configurable number of mining turns, where each turn takes a configurable number of seconds. Also, my script does away with the need for dedicated spell/magic effect/adder combos per mining material, when using the drinking fountain script. Instead, you can simply give this one the leveled list from which you want it to add items to the player's inventory.
The whole thing still needs a fair bit of work, and I'm not yet happy with the exhaustion system - but @Zorkaz: msg me anytime if you want to take a look
I didn't follow modding of settlements, so I don't know how flexible are all those settlement blueprints - what do I need to make it like roleplaying farm/mine in Skyrim? Because settlements are almost the only option for RP on Nexus, so maybe I can use them in my own way.
Yeah i was always missing the cool mining animation of Skyrim and the various types of mine available and how useful they are as crafting recipes. I would be nice if such system could be implemented. Anyway, keep up the good work !!!!
Would this mining system only be possible in settlements? Or could you actually go to caves and start digging? (Thinking about that cave under the red rocket gas station )
Great work as always! I really like the ideas you come up with! Hope you can one day do something to make the "at sea/at the beach/fishing" sector more interesting
