Are the wells supposed to give dirty water? My character drank from one, and got sick. I decided to fill up some bottles, and got dirty water. Using the esl version.

It makes sense, it's not a purifier. You would have to boil the water to make it safe, but I don't think anyone has added that mechanic in game yet, I might be wrong, it's been a while.

      "Yes" - Savage lol
Yes, even the wells water IN REAL LIFE are dirty water. Please get out of the city for once, try drinking raw water from a well and tell me if you got sick afterwards.

      Partly Wrong.
It depens on which well. There is a well in my neighbour district where flowing water comes out a pipe directly from the mountain behind it, and due there is a warning sighn it's not 100% safe if you dirnk it, but I always did as a child and never got sick.

Underground and mountain water is at least enough clean to be able to drink it. That's why the water pump also provides clean water.

-> Can change it in FO4Edit, activate and go to the Well esl/esm and expand it, go to "activator", click on the well which you want to modefy, expand "VMAD - Virtual Machine Adapter, expand "scrpt sorted" - now go to the lowest "property" which sais something about "spell on drink .  .  . " something, expand those again and again until bit further down there is something like "radiated cool delicious fresh water", change it and type this one in: WaterFountainCleanDrinking "Cool, delicious, refreshing water" [SPEL:000B1ECD]
(btw. there is a chance some of thosde are already expandet)

And voila, clean water. A bit more below you can even change the mount of Water it will give to the settlement.

This is actually pretty great if you don't want/need those loud waterpumps which need eletricity and still want a well which provides at least 4 or 5 water. (especially in a post apocalytik world where not everyone is a scientist to build complicated electrical devices)

But the thing is every vanilla kind to get water provides purified water compared, which is especially a hindrance for survival mode (legarcy/weakness happens), also actually settlements got no water even if they are at a lake or river- means it seem to can not use radiated water either unless there would be any kind of purifier.

Would have been good if it would be clean water at all. Kinda a downgrade in this case, otherwise it's just illogical why there is no water recource at Sanctuary after all if they could simply use lake water, which is bassically the same as the build wells providing dirty water.
EDIT: at last I looked into it myself in FO4Edit and changed it myself. xD
Changed it under "activator" in the Well.ESL and instead of radiadet "Cool, delicious, refreshing water" into: WaterFountainCleanDrinking "Cool, delicious, refreshing water" [SPEL:000B1ECD]

(I was thinking on how to make it work for myself to make it look like there is real water in it since in some wells you can simply see the floor without a hole in it - the flat one especially which providing 5 Water.
But I'm by far not good enough to make it ever happen nor did I notice how much time it needs, and therefore to much for me...)

I suppose it's a little far fetched to expect a response, but may I ask, do the wells put dirty water in the workbench? I suppose I'll eventually find out, but I'm on survival so it might take a few irl days since I'm only not playing all day and I hadn't gotten Vertibirds yet. Anyway, having dirty water supply would be so useful in recipes when I have supply lines on these settlements, so no matter where I craft, I can just start cooking.

Sometimes one cannot see the forest for the trees. Wells... What an accurate and proper method for the Commonwealth to obtain water once reservoirs and pipelines had been drained. I tip my hat to you for bringing this to the game! Very immersive!

A suggestion for the next version, if you are so inclined: Lifting buckets will prove tiresome after some time. Perhaps an "improved" well with a motor attached that offers even more water output. Could possibly adapt the existing model for the ground water pump somehow.

I mean, the water would be so incredibly irradiated and toxic that a well would not make sense

Deep well water wouldnt be that irradiated unless you were directly on a blast site.

Guys, I just wanted to pay the modder a compliment. It's a neat little mod that makes good common sense and frankly I was surprised no one (myself included) thought of it before.

Yet water pumps stuck in rivers make perfect sense huh?

There are only meshes in the BA2, I gonna try the old version that is bigger, probable textures here.
Also the BA2 compressed in "general" mode setting, not sure if ok.
I can confirm that version 1.3 as the textures and work well, very well.
Some got only 1 water but for SimSet and Horizon players thats great,. Its free water!
    I upload a pic

i tried the ESP version and while the item is in the menu, there is no graphic. I never tried building the well with the ESP. I uninstalled the ESP version and tried the ESL. It had the same issue where the menu items had no picture. I tried building a well and according to the workshop menu, the well was build and I have 4 more water in the settlement, but I can't see or otherwise interact with the invisible well.

I downloaded the ESL and have the same issue. Odd, because I've never had an issue with one of Zorkaz's mods before.

Exact same issue here. LMK if you find a solution pls! Dying to use these! I hate the water purifiers and stuff, I'm building a village kind of settlement and they just don't match; the wells match perfectly! >.<

They're invisible for me for whatever reason.
I can find them in the menu but they neither have an icon nor does anything appear when I place them. T_T
Tried both, the ESP and ESL, for the record.

Hey, love the mod, god some feedback though. I feel like the recipes are pretty unbalanced, The vanilla water pump generates 3 water and costs 4 concrete, 1 gear and 1 steel. The wells in this mod however require a whopping 40 concrete for a similar amount of water. A minor nitpick, the crane pump is at the start of the Water menu, instead of at the end like the other wells.

I know you're working on other mods, but I'd appreciate it if you took another look at this one and make some adjustments.

I opened this mod up to change some things and noticed cell entries in it. Do these wells need cells or something to work?
