Faster Workshop is October's Mod of the Month! Thank you all for your endorsements and votes!
Taking the opportunity to answer some frequently asked questions:
FAQs Q: Does this mod conflict with [x mod]? A: This plugin very precisely targets native code that handles workshop loads. It can only conflict with other DLL-based mods that target exactly the same code regions, and there are no such plugins that I am aware of. This mod will not (and cannot) conflict with any script-based mods, so they will work perfectly fine together with this mod. Mods such as Workshop Framework and Workshop Plus work perfectly fine with this mod.
Q: My workshop icons load slowly, will this mod help? A: This mod does not improve workshop icon loading speeds. However, there is a vanilla issue where icons for submenus will not even start to load until you have stopped navigating through the Workshop item carousel. If you are navigating quickly through menus, this additional delay will be noticeable as you will have to stop navigating before the icons begin to load. This mod fixes this issue and removes the initial load delay, so you may see icons appearing faster as a result.
I am not sure why my load time to enter workshop mode can take up to a minute. Does anyone else have this issue, or does anyone have any suggestions on how to make this speed up?
Thank you! I've been struggling with it since the NG, too; looking forward to registrator2000's update, if they can figure it out. I'll try eventHandler's until then!
registrator2000 has other F4SE mods on the Nexus that have already been updated for next gen shortly after it's release. He hasn't gotten to this one yet and there's been no word. Real life may not be allowing time for work on this mod. Hopefully, he'll be back soon.
Might get dinged for this but if Reg is still AWOL/doesn't respond to github issues or any comments left here by the new year, I will personally update Faster Workshop whether or not permissions are granted.
This mod (in its standalone form) has become a staple to the community, and I don't want to see it abandoned.
Jan. 31st is my target release date to allow Reg time to respond in any form, so check in on this comment at that point for further news.
Prior to NextGen, I had over 5,000 hours with this game. Since Next Gen... about 30. Without this mod, the game is nothing short of constant frustration.
If NG is that different then I would honestly MAKE the damned thing and say that it is the NG edition of registrator2000's Faster Workshop, all the while heaping (proper) praise to him.
Unfortunately, that requires actual talent (which I lack).
Please do this I keep checking up on this mod and it looks like hes never going to update it. I have not updated Fallout 4 yet because of this. Workshop takes like over a minute for me to load with all the workshop mods I use on the NG Update and that to me is unacceptable. I will try updating once this mod has been updated and I really hope you do it!
My guess is that this mod uses F4SE which we all know mods with the previous version of F4SE and pre next gen mods were all broken, and we know why but many great mods will not be updated, and I for one just got the GOG version which has not updated as of yet., so pretty sure I wouldn't use the Next gen on steam till at least this essential mod is fixed and we can somehow patch the other mods that the mod authors have moved on and no longer working to update. To me whatever they added to this game is not worth the breaking of all these wonderful mods and had a stable load order and game going and this mod was a staple in every game....so I hope you do update this and of course give the original mod author credit but also yourself because Bethesda isn't going to fix their own issues and never did. All they do is break mods and act like oops, we didn't mean to do that...but we know the modders will fix it. Sadly...couldn't be further from the truth. So till at the very least this mod is fixed, I'll be playing the GOG version with all the mods that worked perfectly fine without the so called 'update'. Thank you in advance for doing this and we who have used this and other great mods for years, will appreciate it if you are still running the steam version which they keep trying to force the update on. I don't understand why we can't choose to not update it. It's ok, GOG is here and you don't have to update or roll back updates if you don't want them. Something Steam needs to learn. Begging Bethesda, please don't update again...we just don't want it...modders fixed your issues and we were fine without it.
You are so correct. this needs to be updated for the next-gen updates. Doesn't seem to be working anymore, for me, and as you know I loved the mod and what it does/did. saves a lot of time waiting. Update asap please.
NOTE: crashes f4seVR! sort of. the *current* version of f4sevr. i used to use this with an older version of it to no issue. but now it crashes it 100% of the time, and steamvr too even if it's the ONLY MOD.
I have just uploaded a rewritten version working for NG https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/91075
I don't know if it is as much of an improvement for NG as this original was for OG, but I went from almost 10 seconds to 3 seconds to open the menu now. I would like to get it down more eventually.
A bit of assistance here. In previous mod lists I was able to use the "Auto snap" Option in Workshop mode pressing F1 and the "No Collision" Mode with F2. Now in my current play-through I can´t figure out how to enable neither of those options. Thanks for any pointers.

You could try this mod;
Faster Workshop NG
But some including myself haven't had any luck yet. BUT the creator is working hard to try and fix it.

It is obvious that it will not be updated

This mod, Faster Workshop, isn't updated for Fallout 4.
Update this mod to NG and I´ll pay you 50 € via paypal.
