Not sure if this is the right place to post this, because I know it's a problem on my end, but what do I do if the preset just changes the hair color and makes the face brown (not like the black face problem from conflicting textures on a face, but a lighter brown)? I have all the required mods, and reinstalled everything in order just to make sure, but I can't seem to actually get the preset to work. I have a 4k face textures mod installed, if that has anything to do with it. This is a great preset and I'd love to use it, but this is the only thing in my way.
Just an FYI - I had completely eliminated the brown/black face issue by removing the High Res Texture DLC and using only 1K textures - my video card at the time did not support HD textures.
Now I have a new upgraded system more than capable of handing HD Textures, and brown/black face issues, as well as some textures that look darker than they should be showing up. I am assuming it is all connected to the same issue with mixed resolution textures.
It would be nice if the mods this preset depends on would upgrade to 2k/4k textures. (especially Hair).
If not a standalone companion, how about a replacer? I would have no problem if Curie looked like this (or Cait?). Totally second LisbethSAO's remarks as well. It was the beautifully executed ginger that caught my eye immediately.
edit: I have no luck with presets. Every time I try to use a preset (and, yes, I am obsessive about installing the requirements and using LOOT for the load order) I wind up with a character with a grossly long neck. If I try to make the neck shorter, it gets incredibly fat and the face distorts. That's why I'm hoping someone will make her a companion/major npc. I would love to apply this to my player character, but Looksmenu doesn't like me.
It's not that hard to use presets for already existing companions---you just need to have, and know how to use the mod 'LooksMenu' ( https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12631 ). I use NotWord2's 'Mathilda' preset for my Heather Casdin companion mod, and she's never looked better!! <3
If you have LooksMenu, just do the following:
1. Go into first-person view and get up close to your companion (Note: It also helps if you command them to 'Stay' in one spot, so they don't wander off while you do this.); open up the console command and click on your companion to bring up their ID.
2. Type 'slm <ID code here>'. This will bring up the 'LooksMenu' screen, which is the same screen with all the options during character creation. Then exit out of console command. Now you are at the screen that allows editing of your companion. ( Note: 'slm' = 'showlooksmenu' console command )
3. Choose the 'Presets' option (bottom of your screen). Go through your list of presets and highlight (click on) the one you want.
4. Choose 'Load' or 'Load Preset'. But DO NOT click 'DONE' yet, unless you are done; you can also tweak and make changes to your liking before you click 'DONE'.
5. Click 'DONE' when you are finished. This will then exit you out of the 'LooksMenu' screen and you are finished! ( Note: Make sure you open up console command again and click on your companion again, so you don't have his/her ID showing on the console command screen. Then exit console command. )
@peytonmc00 ~ Do you use that 'neck-length-adjustment' mod? If you don't then presets shouldn't have any effect on neck-lengths (that's odd, lol). If you DO use that neck-length-adjustment mod (I forget the name of the mod), then there might be a conflict with LooksMenu (but I'm not really sure)?
Yeah I plan to use one of NotWord2's ginger presets on my Cait as well, but can't decide which one, cuz they's all so good!
( PS~ I should also note that I knew that name sounded familiar, and her face looked familiar, then I googled the name, cuz it sounded too specific to be a made-up name...and shazam! It's the girl from Jurassic World with Chris Pratt! I love her too!! LOL! )
You can identify made up characters among my presets by having only the first time, while remakes of actors and characters from other media also have a surname.
LisbethSAO, I don't have a neck length adjusting mod. I didn't even know there was one. Thanks for the heads up on it, though. I was trying to do the whole character styling in Looksmenu.
The step by step guide, which you were very kind to put together for me, will tempt me to try again. I see there is an update to Looksmenu, since I last tried it. That couldn't hurt to get applied either, I suppose. Then again, a new version of F4SE will be needed and my Norton AV says the F$SE file from silverlock is infected. I believe I can override the latter. Maybe, I can even have my player character look like this preset? I think the player is simply id '14" (with the leading zeroes). Perhaps I can PM a resulting pic, if that is permitted?
NotWord2, I will be sure to check out the linked video you mentioned. It seems a lot of people are using presets with no issues, so I really ought to be able to do it, too.
Thank you for the positive encouragement. I really appreciate it. This creative preset is just too pretty to ignore. Then again, I do believe I saw someone with a Jennifer Lawrence preset that was well done. CAIT is never going to look the vanilla look again!!!
I couldn't figure out how to add a picture to a private message, but I believe we may have a "mission accomplished," due to the more than gracious help from LisbethSAO and Notword2. I have submitted an image for this mod post. At least Notword2 can see how things turned out. I forgot to ask: Does it matter if I am using CBBE rather than a vanilla body? My most sincere thanks and appreciation for your kindness to this fat old man!
I’m afraid you can’t use Extended facial sculpting on both male and female characters at the same time. But I might install it on my other PC, eventually. :)
This looks amazing! Well done! Thought I'd try it out though and in my game, her face is a deep unnatural bronze color. Her body however is pale. It looks really funny actually! I have all of the required mods installed. My guess is it has something to do with one of the "mole" mods, as in, I think her whole face is being taken over by a mole color. This is just a guess though, since the moles don't show up at all, but she's I think at about that color. I've tried reinstalling various mods, playing with the order, and no luck. Anybody know what might be wrong?
I'm having the same issue. It looks to have something to do with the Valkyr Female Face and Body Testers. It's mentioned on the description page for that mod. Other than saying check the mod version, game version and other mods I'm not seeing how to fix it.
Good of you to notice that, I didn't even see it. Thanks for the answer! At least you've given me an idea as to what's going on, and I appreciate it! Going to tinker now...

I WISH! HHHNNNGGG!!! <3 <3 <3
But in all seriousness, I don't think anyone has made one yet, sadly. At least I've never seen one, pfft. T_T

edit: I think by moles I meant freckles.
